P35C-DS3R new F6 Bios same vdrop problem. Itīs time to Giga to fix this already!!!
IMO Vdrop can't be fixed by BIOS.
Anything new in the F6 Bios for P35C in comparison to F4? Should I update?
Hey guys. Building a gaming rig on a budget for a family member. I don't have time to read all 60+ pages to prevent any problems, but I was wondering how the DS3L board is for the money.
NewEgg has it for 89.99$ which is a great deal for a P35 board. Does it have any problems with D9? Specifically some Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800MHz? Any problems with an SATA CD/DVD drive?
It will be running Vista. Thanks!
need advice guys
my pc2-6400 ballastix 2x1gb will only do @ 2.2V 5-5-5-15 510 MHz and 4-5-5-8 430 MHz 2.0V
@ 2.2V only around 440 MHz 4-4-4?
i have 3 sticks as 4th stick went kaput by me (my fault, you don't need to know)
it still runs dual channel with 3x1GB
currently running 4-5-5-8 430 MHz 2.0V
the first kit now only 1 stick seemed more D9GMH as 4-4-4 2.2V around 500 MHz but the 2nd kit don't clock well so I have to make sure those are stable which sucks for my good stick, it possible 2nd kit don't have d9gmh?
p35-ds3r rev 1.0 and e6750
using F6 Bios
does new f7 bios have voltage readings and help vdroop?
e750 @ 430x8 = 3.44
1.45 vcore in BIOS actual is 1.392 load (default VID 1.35)
+0.1 G(MCH)
24 hours orthos blend/small ftt stable
8 hours memtest 86
and 3 hours OCCT
of course game stable
fsb wall is around 520fsb, anything I can do to get stable 3.6 GHz
I can get around 3.6-3.8 boot into windows but never stable with even high vcore settings.....even with bad oc kit i just higher timings
to get u idea of how far I can actually just boot up into windows here's a valid
(this is before when I just had 2x1gbGB kit that oc'd good, the kit where one stick went kaput and now making 3GB with other bad non seeming d9gmh kit)
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=248682
just vcore seetings I can't get cpu stable over 3.44, orthos/prime95 always fail
any help with vcore/ram/other voltages?
can new f7 bios show voltages and help with ram?
voltage readings, yes, pretty accurate IMO. The vdrop still the same. I'm 1.52V in Bios but 1.47 idle - 1.42 load.
You shouldn't have any problem ;)
Crucial and Micron are the same company, so pretty sure all Crucial have D9. ;)
I think your problem is not that the 2nd one is a bad one but rather the first one is a good one. I think my kit is close to the results you have with the 2nd one.
I was trying today some OCZ RAM (PC-8500 Dual Channel SLI Ready black heatspreaders) and I was able to run it with only 1.90V set in BIOS @DDR2-1066.
However I noticed some vdimm fluctuation. Everest is not the most accurate way to monitor this, but since neither BIOS or Easytune show current readings it's the only thing I have right now.
With 2.00V (+0.20V) I saw the readings stay at 2.06V, sometimes going down to 2.05V. Less changes...
With 1.95V (+0.15V) I saw it stay between 1.97~1.98V. More different readings.
With 1.90V (set in BIOS +0.10V) I saw vdimm stay at 1.92V, but fluctuate between 1.90~1.94V and different readings happened even more.
So, it seems the lower the vdimm, the more fluctuation.
Well, I don't think this fluctiation is good for RAM. If someone could test this...
New Bios for gigabyte boards: http://www.station-drivers.com/index.html
This fluctuation I'm referring to was during normal use of the computer, no heavy bench/burn in was running. I left Everest logging the readings for some time, then I checked the Everest logs when I was using 1.90V (+.10), 1.95V (+.15)and 2.00V (+.20). With 1.90V fluctuation is more common. With 2.00 it's less. I have not counted how many readings of each or %, but just by looking I can say that...
Latest BIOS for Gigabyte boards usually show up here first:

its weird in the past this board would boot @ 575fsb but now it wont boot past 530 is it the board that is degrading??
i could do 4.1 with the cpu now it wont do 4.04
i dont think its the cpu cause i was on x38 n it did 4.3 no problem never went above 1.64v
it just hangs before windows
Check if it's not your RAM that is degrading.
By far DDR2 is the most sensitive component in any Intel combo.
If your temperatures and volts are ok, I believe the mobo is alright.
But you have to see that 575MHz FSB is not a normal thing you see everyday :D
Is that 24/7?
Some A64 were sensitive too. With time the OC degraded. I don't know about Core 2 Duos.
does the DS3P still do the PCIE 16X changing into PCIE 1X?
funny my ram is stronger they runnin 1236mhz with 2.24v my old set that died needed 2.35v for 1224mhz
i had boxed the board 3 weeks while i had x38-dq6 it was ok before i boxed it
right after reinstalling it it would not boot @ old setting it was on "535fsb"
so i lowered it to 515
Can anyone tell me if there is a Revision 2.0 of the P35-DQ6 in production?
I POSTED P35C-DS3R VDROOP/VCORE PICS HERE->
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5c-ds3r+vdroop
only way to fix the droop!
i figured it out i had to have mcmh @+3
weird thing when i set cpu to 1.6 it wont boot 1.59 is ok
did some playin around got this
i'll try to go higher as soon as i mod the board i need 1.6 real for cpu:)
in regards to me anything i can do for 3.6?Quote:

You might need to raise MCH and FSB voltages.
Try to overclock with all voltage settings on AUTO.
It's weird, but with manual settings before I didn't manage to find out what was holding me at 477MHZ FSB. When I set to AUTO it managed to boot with 485MHz FSB with "ease".
I don't know how much E6750 need for 3.6
My E6750 is stable with default VID (1.350) until 3360MHz. For 3400MHz I need to raise vcore to the next setting.
Hello guys. I have a quick question, I hope (I read the frist 10 or so pages and realized its 64 pages. stupid me). I just got a P35C-DS3R and a Q6600 GO. What is the best bios to use for the Q and a good overclock (I'm on phase)? Anything else I should know or some quick tips (you can pm them to me if they have been said repeatedly, sorry)? Thank you.
