All in good time :)
Guys I need help, trying to run 580's sli and tri sli on this board. The cards are in the correct slots etc, bridges in place, driver enabled says SLI available. I try enable it and either A the control panel crashes or B the 00000000x 7E error and BSOD. I have tried and get the same error etc evan with stock settings. I have tried a couple of old drivers and the new beta ones still no good. All the cards work OK on there own. I evan get the same with a fresh windows 7 install. Is there a setting in bos or something else I am missing??? Thanks
have you tried to put the extra power connector in the motherboard for your GFX,or set voltset in bios at NF200
Yeah I have. I just installed Win 7 32 bit clean instead of 64 bit and in worked first time. Not sure what to do now as all my stuff is on 64 bit version
Guys under PCH on bios there is a setting called precision event timer. If I disable this normal SLI works consistently which it did not in the past. Any ideas what this actaully does??? any one else disabled it???
whit cross is it ok

hey guys..two smd on my motherboard just blew up. I was benching under a chiller @ -20C at 1.66v 5.8ghz and 1.7v vdimm 2250 when i heard a pop and to surface mount devices i saw fried. However i checked the second i heard and there was nothing wet since i insulated it perfectly with plumbing tape... shop towels.. and eraser.
second motherboard gone in a week :(
not even gonna bother with rma.. just gonna buy me another one from microcenter
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5861/1006334m.jpg
i don't think this was a short due to water... i thought 1.7v+ was all good since i saw so many of you guys doing it :(
bellow the cap two surface mount devices located on the right near the first ram slot, which are suppose to have 3 solder points are fried... there are burn marks around those two smd. I cannot boot with the board anymore either. BTW i was using 1.8vdimm also... was a mistake on my post from last night.
I was running 3dmark11 and it popped during the physics portion
EDIT: when i boot it goes from 19 to 22 to 53 and either gets stuck on the cpu or ram.. however i tested the ram on my 1366 rig and it works perfectly
i hope the chip isn't dead.. it was the first one i had that went above 53 multi
yep..
vccio iirc was 1.16v not that high i don't think. Just checked it today again to see if it would boot. It does, but if i increase ram frequency past 1866 i will get a shutdown followed by the same post codes i mentioned before and refusal to boot.
Gonna buy another one tomorrow :(
You think i put to much volts into it for 3d benching? so i can avoid it on my next board if that was the case
That is not that high, but I have never really needed more than 1.1 and usually about 1.0875 iirc.
RMA that sucker and get a new one, no reason to buy another one.
Personally I feel that your volts are well within acceptable range and nothing to extreme, do you have another cpu to try?
Guys I sortedmy TRI SLI problem. It was simple disable Intel HPET in bios. Sorted!!!
Hello,
I've got a strange problem going on - would you guys be able to help me please?
This issue does not happen every time so it's a bit of a difficult one for me to sort.
When I boot up the rig, it will reach the stage of booting into Windows 7 (just where the bootup logo changes to go onto the desktop)
and the rig seems to freeze. The HD light stays on (solid) and there is no response at all from the rig. Reset button will not reboot the rig I need to hold the power on button
or power off at the PSU.
It "seems" to be 80% related to cold boots. Like last night I rebooted the rig 3 times and no problems. This morning I turn on the rig and I get two failed boots.
SPECS:
Mive ex
BIOS: 1850
2600K @ 4.8 (on water Idle temps 33-36c, Load 67-69 MAX)
Windows 7 x64
The rig has passed both Prime95 for 8 hours and also a few cycles of LinX. Idle stability seems to be solid, been using the rig for a while now and
no BSOD during general usage.
Here are my BIOS settings. If anyone is able to advise please on what maybe causing this issue. (thanks)

voltset to mem ;) giv dem noget mere ;)
disable all c stat
why does your vdimm read 1.627v when set to 1.65v? that could be it... i think martin was trying to say your memory isn't getting enough voltage..(if it was rated for 1.65v) disable all the power saving features and then try to boot again.
If you have one take a dmm and measure dram voltage to see what it is during startup.
cheers
ups disable all speed step
Hi thanks for replying.
hm... well my dimm voltage has never shown 1.65 even with cstates turned off.
I thought maybe it was lower as it was unneeded and I understand that lower Dimm Voltage is better/safer?
But I will turn them off and see if this weird issue goes away.
Can I ask... should I disable all c states including the Package C State Limit (C6) ??
I do have a dmm. But would like advice on using it if anyone can help please?
This is the dmm I have...
