i did see that in the p35 thread. so is the p35 really a better oc'er?
what i was really wanting praz to chime in about was the limited "production" of x38 mobo's
wish we could get more info on this ..
Sorry. Don't have that info. But i do know there's an awful lot of posts in this thread for the board to be limited to 1000. I would think that a lot of people that view this thread are X38 owners. So i'm thinking the 1000 boards is probably a bit shy of what was actually produced.
Have we found what memory works best in this? My OCZ PC8000 wont boot. I wont be buying any OCZ again all they have casued me is trouble!
ive used crucial balistix 6400 and G.SKILL PC8000
Do they boot bios from scratch or do you have to Voltage bump?
yeap and wont take my ocz. speaking to dfi techincal and they surgesting loads of stuff and none of it works! starting to get ***** off.
I have some generic 667mhz stuff that works, but wont allow me to get my OCZ working. Got some G Skill on way, but just some 6400 stuff. Also the board headers to case dont work, on/off etc... and thats also very annoying
Yeap done that. Also cleared cmos over night etc... entered many different voltages and timings and also set memory strap etc.. tryed everything. Still email back and forth to technical help. They seem very reluctant to RMA, I belive this is because they have made there recomended list up, as how can they get it to work and then not me? Unless my board really is DUFF and needs to be RMA'ed which would explain headers for case, which they havent address at all yet. Been talking to technical surport for over 2 days now and got no where.
its a bit suspect that the headers are not working.
Have you tried the OCZ in another pc?
I've tried to contact HPM-Computer about possibly RMA'n my board but they've not responded and i e-mail'd last night but when i contacted them about buying the board i had a reply in <1 hour :/
Id ring them mate, they didnt get back to me on email for 16hr so I rang them. I think they are reulctant to do anything regarding RMA, as all they said to do was mail DFI directly which I did and talking to them. Im in talks with "Wendell Smith" <Wendell.smith@dfi-europe.nl> from DFI technical surport. Tho they seem up there own backsides and think everything they make is perfect as they are saying im the 1st RMA they have had which im sure is ****! The OCZ passes mem test for 12hr + and works in my other pc. They have even blamied my PSU saying that they need to be 700+W. They are a Corsair 520W and a Coolermaster 700W which im sure is fine!
wow dfi tech has always been great when i spoke with them in the past.. have you checked over at dfi club to see if anyone has any ideas?
so it will not boot even with everything set to stock minus voltage?? have you been able to try booting with some el cheapo 667 ram sticks? just curious
Cheers. I havent but will now. They are good im sure, I dont want to slate them. But seems we have tryed everything and they are taking blind shots and just guessing now. They are very reluctant to RMA which I dont mind at min as will work with the generic stuff, although doesnt explain headers not working:confused:
Id like to know how they can put it on their recomended list and it not boot at all? Thast very very missleading
where did you buy it from?
Germany (tho im in UK) I got it from Trend PC
ahh i know in the usa some places offer a 1 year replacement policy..
Well Il be entitled to it anyway, I have a 30 day one. But im thinking they might just have lyed about compatible memory, doesnt explain the case headers tho
imo if you are within your time i would exchange it through the vendor first.. at least try a second one there is always a chance it could be a bad mobo
Thanks have emailed and will let you know what they say. Werid that it works with generic memory tho. Im trying to find what memory people on here says works and what doesnt. No-one seems to have OCZ alpha's,I wonder why(Hmmmm)
Trend PC have been great and agreed to take mine back but said they arent due any more boards till 19th feb but will try and get me one sooner.
excellent.. see i always ask the vendor first as long as its within a reasonable period of time, now if you have the same issue with the next one imo i would think its either the ram or it being not compatible
