Looks like Muddy101 was off the grid today, thats ~400,000 or so less than normal. And numbers were low across the board today, typical Saturday reporting.
Still a good day for the team

If 12.3 million is our new weekend low, I'll take it.
And Today's Number is !!!!!!
12,643,750
Another Excellent day especially for the weekend
XtremeSystems 12,989,195
So close to 13 mill but still a good day.:clap::up::clap::up::clap::up::clap:

I have a feeling that points will shoot up starting tomorrow. The mass emails are already having an effect:up::up::up:
After the servers crashed a few weeks ago, everyone built up a large number of work units pending validation. Our numbers spiked for about a week after the servers were back online, as those WU's were being validated. During the outage, I had more than 50 pages of WU's pending validation. It's now down to less than 30 pages.
We were averaging 11-11.5 million a day a month ago. We've been averaging around 12.5 million over the past several days. So our numbers are up.

 Nice day!
I haven't even started yet.Just rounding up some volunteers to help!

Go get em Dave. I can't wait till next week.

Another Excellent day team
Nice, points are starting the build up
Later during this weekend let's fire some posts in the other sections of XS, maybe we can get some more members.
Anybody recall our all-time high just right off the top your head?
Naw, we almost did it: 17,822,396
I still think we should do another mass emailing this weekend, the link was broken in the email: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=230613
Hehe, I'm just kinda nervous:D
Thanks. First target identified.
New high Monday then? :D
And Today's Number is !!!!!!
13,960,557
Movin' on up (Jefferson's theme song)
It begins, Excellent....

Considering the challenge starts tomorrow I would be expecting the numbers to have climbed faster, still tomorrow is the big day. Maybe theres a whole bunch of people waiting to start, if not 30 million is awfully far away as it stands.
well we're already doing more than we were last week so 30 mil or not more work is getting done and that's always a good thing. Here's to hoping more jump on the bandwagon for the official start date tomorrow!!:toast:
Bring It Ladies & Gentlemen. This is going to be Fun (stats, smack-talk, etc.) and Productive (work-units completed). Crunch On!!

Miserable F5 people
Nicely done, team:clap:
Now let's keep it going and shoot for the 20:cool:
Should get better over the next couple of days, too.
team 2ch watch out!!
I say 18Mill tomorrow
Staring into my crystal ball, I see a very big number today.
I think I just looked at the same one and did a :clap::up:
How often do they update stats? F@H was every hour and EOC was every 3. I've been crunching for 16 hours and the numbers look like I'm running a single P-3.
GPUgrid is looking good with over 60K. :)
WCG point stats for individuals are updated twice a day. Team stats are updated once daily. BOINC stats are usually updated four times a day.
The last BOINC team update was 636,632 for a quarter-day's work. That's a huge number. It translates into roughly 4.46 million WCG points. There once was a time when it took us the entire day to get that many points. Each BOINC point is worth about 7 WCG points.
I don't remember if it is 3 or 4 times a day  ..the other thing here is the quorum effect ...each piece of work gets done by at least 2 computers so that the result can be validated...you don't get your points till the second computer is finished...there is a good chance though that one of us with the bigger better faster machines is your wu buddy so it should not take too long :)
Great to see you here Wfo
EDIT: see, how little do I know :shakes:
Thanks guys. I finally found what I was looking for in Advanced view/Show running tasks. I was was expecting projects to be run like the smps at Stanford. Boinc is actually running 1 project per thread on each machine. As a result there are some rather long completion times. It'll probably take 48 hours to get a real idea of total ppd.
Yes, it usually takes a few days to get a better idea of your daily point average. Some projects like HFCC and FAAH have no quorum system (technically a quorum of one), so you get credit right away. Other projects like HPF2 have a very large quorum. If you're planning on crunching for just a week, you might want to choose the projects with no quorum.
Though we'd love to have you keep at least one machine on here for longer than that :)
Does the system have to be running by midnight tonight to count towards this weeks totals?
I just have to find someplace local to get some fittings and tube, and I could have my new system running tonight. I have no case, or even a bench to run it on for that matter, but I could at least power it up.
Anyone in Phoenix? or know of someplace in Phoenix where I could get G1/4 fittings and tube?
Just for note, it's a q6600 and a 5870, so it should help the total numbers
No, it doesn't have to be running by midnight tonight. :)
good day :)
Ball park figures here...

Oh the anticipation! :) I'm guessing 16.8m for day 1
I'm hoping we break 17m, its just moments away!
XtremeSystems 17,574,320
Woooooooo 17.5m!
We are 5 million points behind 2ch in terms of PPD for yesterday.
PUMP IT UP, TEAM!:up::up:
Dave does a ninja edit of Sig's post!
I'll let everyone in on a little secret;
The old line: If I had my druthers" what I'd love to see is 100 million in a day.
Xs is capable of it but unfortunately the vast majority here won't do it even for just a week.
I know this and I think we all do.
It's a shame but it's also reality so we live with it.
Now for me I do think 30mil is doable but what will make me smile is seeing one day, just one piddly little day with team 2channel in the #2 spot on the dailies.
I'll do a screen cap of that and may have a print made and framed!:p:
Nicely done, everyone!
Normally I do 20K points per day but today I did 41K :toast:
less than 200k to our last super computer week max PPD
nice job XS!
19m is my guess for tonight :D
says the guy with 29,000+ :shakes:

A new daily PPD team RECORD :D
Very nice day. Let's see if we can beat it tomorrow.
The record is 21,060,100 set on October 15. But that's really a two-day total because the servers were down the day before. Today's number is a legitimate record for the team.:)
SB called it, official team high! and we are just starting off the for the week :D

"I'm givin' her everythin' Captain! If I give her inny more she'll blow!" :D
Great day for a great team:up::clap:
^^ yup and his postcount was reset several times already
18mil is nice
Keep on crunchers :D I suspect close to 20mil tomorrow
This. Is. Awesome.
Congratulations guys! I joined just a day prior to the week starting, have my old machine crunching this week too, so two running 24/7. Wish I could squeeze out more and seeing as there is clients for the PS3, why aren't there any for my Xbox360?! :P
Awesome! :D
http://www.neweurasia.net/wp-content...-high-five.jpg
And this is just the beginning! :D
GPU programming is very different than CPU programming. Add to that the issues of constantly changing language support (CUDA v OpenCl(?) ) and hardware and you have a very complicated development environment. The notion of programming and running arbitrary code on video cards is still quite new, so getting your head around the the massively parallel GPU is a real challenge.
It shouldn't take longer time than this one, I guess the problem is the lack of common standers and disagreement between AMD/ATi and nVidia. Besides, Intel doesn't want this thing at all, they don't like competition for CPUs. All this (and some other issues too) makes the future of GPGPU a bit shaky and unsecure.
Nobody wants to spend time on developing a application that can become obsolete in near future. Otherwise, GPGPU is the future of HPC and supercomputers, only if these guys could agree and move on.
well other projects didn't let it stop them from using gpu's. it just seems like such a waste to let that much power go unused
Yeah, They should start working on GPGPU, maybe they are doing so already. A high-end GPU can eat 10 high-end CPUs for lunch in these kind of tasks (parallel computing).
I don't know why these guys are waiting, exactly, but I know others having concerns about changing standards and such. CUDA and ATI Stream are "closed" and both been evolving/changing too. OpenCL is a common and open standard, but it is very young one, and it's still a bit shaky. On top of this, Intel have been trying to sabotage/delay all these, and will do the same in the future too, I guess.
Some people are insecure what kind of platform, SW, standards, etc they should choose, because this a very young field, and all standards are changing/evolving rapidly. And all major plays are fighting each other too.
Excellent job guys, my prediction is 20+ for the next update:D.
all it should really take is one big player to pick a standard and then everyone would go for that. problem is, i don't wcg is a big enough player to pull that off..
