Do you really think PWMIC over 60C is an issue..I was 15 hrs dual prime 95 small fft stable with cpu temps near 50C/PWMIC at 64C
do you think pWMIC temps are the issue for higher speeds...if this rated to 100C why would 60-70C be an issue

Just remember:
1. LIGHT TOUCH
2. SLOW
3. Rotate 45 degrees (1/8th) every 10 strokes.
4. DONT go to the very corners
5. Keep the Circle centered (everyone look at my pics)

What Vcore are you using Kemist, and other specs (I've had 'good' memory hold up an OC many a time)
Nealh, Cooling the area helps both short and long term stability, since those temps spread outward from the PWM area also, not to mention moving the air there help to get the heat out of the case :D

Go with IHS off... Ur not going to lose anything by popping it off (well nothing but ur warranty and possibly ur chip if u f*ck up :p: lol ).

Just sold my opteron 170 because I didn't like the stepping. I really wish I could get my hands on a 0530. :rolleyes: Do we have a for sale forum here?

Quick question for the regulars. My first try at overclocking ever but successful with a Opteron 165@2.4ghz. Question is... 48C to hot for a loaded temp? Using a TT Big Typhoon, idles around 32-33C.
Bumped vcore up to 1.425 in the bios for it boot, possible I could lower it some haven't took time to prime it at anything less.
You really need to lap the base of the Big T for optimal performance, with Vcore of 1.425 set in bios you should be able to get upto ~ 2.5GHz but heat could be a problem :)Quote:

Back to the temp question, 48C fully loaded to warm? I've seen so many different temps posted but haven't seen any so called "safe" temp ranges.
Whats reported is rarely the actual temp though IMHO 48c is about the limit, especially for dual coreQuote:

The memory, crucial Ballsitix 2x1GB kit is no good. I am in the process of RMA'ing my corsair TCCD memory, so until I get that back I have nothing else to report.
It primes fine for about 5 minutes then just BSOD's on me. Memtest fails, obviously.
It is cooled with a Koolance water cooling system.
Until the memory issue is fixed, I can not comment on how stable it is, beyond 5 minutes.
