Well the Asus ones do.. but only up to 138Mhz BCLK. 138 stable, 138,4 freeze, from different people with different boards and CPUs. Very strange.

And after going thru that crap with a Z7S WS you'd even consider a Asus board?

Also 138, big deal.. so you get an additional 120mhz on a W5580:rofl:
Lets see 225 BCLK or more with some top Corsair memory and then we're talking REAL power!:D
I keep saying it but 4500mhz for 24/7 usage isn't a dream with these systems with water and good fans on the motherboard to keep all the parts cool and at 4500 you have a machine that has immense computational power and is also to an extent futureproof as the 32nm chips are supposed to be drop in's..

Just being realistic here. Intel is probably not going to do a ST 2, and even if they are, it's gonna takes ages until it hits the market, maybe in time for the Hexacores, who knows.
Until then it's no OC which is just unacceptable. Now the 138Mhz BCLK on Asus boards demonstrate that it's not impossible to OC them, just that there is some kind of obstacle left somewhere with the motherboards, possibly in the bios (which may or may not get fixed..)
I'd rather have 160 BCLK at stock volts than no OC at al. (160*22=3520Mhz=53k PPD)

Also Tyan keeps postponing their mobos.. they were supposed to hit the market months ago. The only other cheap dual lga1366 I can get around here is that freakin Assus, so if Tyan won't release their boards within the next few weeks I'll have no choice but to get a Z8NA-D6 even tho it's probably crap. Still better than having a pair of high end Gainstowns lying on the shelf.

Lol, yeah, amazing what happens when ya finally get all your hardware fixed up and dusted off, a nice little piece of ass... pie!
I can certainly see how it could become addictive :D

Gonna actually have to get out and log my property or something to support the hardware bug if it bites again.

what is that image in your avatar? it has always been curious to me.

it looks like some kind of a flower on a glass platter being heated, from below, by a blowtorch...

but I'm not sure. so, do tell.

Actually that is pretty close, its a flower on top of a small slab of Aerogel, (also called things like "solid air, solid smoke, frozen smoke" etc) Its an ultralight super insulator that always fascinated me. It's also the material with the lowest known density of any solid. It weighs only 3x an equivalent volume of air (I assume @ sea level density or something similar.. not sure exactly though) Think I read somewhere it holds 15 or so guiness records, and pretty much negates most energy transfers- heat, electric, acoustic.

Neat stuff!

The flower survives pretty well with a flame underneath it... Only problem is it can be rather brittle, so it doesn't survive too well in alot of areas where superlight insulation would be really, really useful (ie, air/space craft)

Good going, Bob! I'm trying to get output back up. Got one powerful rig back up and running ( and now OC'ed some ), but need to get a few more "down" rigs back on up.

:D Thanks! Finally got all my quads fixed and running again. Most died last summer when I was out of town for my Grandfather's funeral (hard drive failures) or shortly after I got back. For some reason I just couldn't get myself to work on them till recently. Always kept my main sytem and lappy on task. Some form of grieving I suppose, not wanting to do your hobbies. Glad to be back finally!

Gotta gobble up all the pie I can, while I can, as I am sure I'll get bumped back into the teens when the "walkabouts" return!
