My house and familys houses were lucky, all we had were trees down in the yard, nothing on the homes. One tree did clip the edge of my shed I keep the lawnmower in but nothing major for us. I saw homes with 2 and 3 big tree on them with holes through the roof. well, hurricane season technically runs to Nov. 30th, but everything looks pretty quiet right now. I think the northeast is going to have a rough winter though. Oil was limit up today - think it was the single biggest move in history. Every year I think about getting a snow blower, but this year I think it will actually pay off.
Yeah I wonder about winter too. Last winter was a hefty one, Ohio got slammed with several snowstorms. All on Monday evening/tuesday too, so my one class lost several tuesdays' worth of time. Figures, that was the class I liked more than some of the others :rolleyes:

I'm doing whatever is available and I think HPF is an important project because it is really basic research and that is where the real breakthroughs come from. But you do have to wonder about academics who bite the hand that feeds them. :)Quote:
