I knew about that one a long time ago;) It's been on HWbot for a while. No surprise, as my 185 wasn't really a killer chip:(
he nearly broke my 4000+ with two cores... :D
btw: 3,5days to -196°C :D
very nice man. all i can say is impressive!!!
A little longer for me, but I hope I'll crack a few WR's then. FX55 SD, FX57 and 3700+ SD. I guess I can improve the Newcastle WR's I got this weekend, as I didn't hit the CB (not too far away, but if I can get 50mhz more it's worth it:) )
I think I have a couple of more chips that can stand the coldness, but I doubt they're good enough to be WR candidates.
Looking forward to benching the video cards as well:) LN2 on a geforce 2 mx:D
Nice statistics on ripping.org ;) It is really impressive that 2 or 3 freaky guys tested the old school socket 939 and will take all records in the future.
@ knut
look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-Athlon-FX-60...QQcmdZViewItem
ACB2E sounds rare but the rest isn´t good enough...thats one of the first steppings of the fx-60 by the way.
ACB2E have worse coldbugs than B1 and BI, and on average they OC a bit worse than the other 2, so I don't think it's a WR killer. But the seller wants a confirmed address, and then you have to be registered on USA or UK (maybe Canada is possible as well, but I'm not sure). And hey! I'm broke:D
When the price comes down I'll buy one, but I don't like to pay $350 for a quite common chip. Getting the $$$ for another 156 is what I'm going for now. + getting a nice 170 and a nice 185, of course:D
Edit: 17 of 54 939 WR's are NOT in the hands of The Three Musqueteers.

The rest of the X2 WR's WILL be mine someday, but I need to buy one first. Only DC Manchester I ever owned was the 3600+! Ah, and a CRAPPY 4600+, yes. I'm also willing to bet a dozen CPUs on the fact that I will get the FX55 WR when I get my LN2.
I knew that B2 is horrible with cold bug, but I never seen one ACB2E.
I won´t buy that FX...but I search for another cpus like FX and Opteron like you ;)
Stay clear of the damn BQ's, btw:D Someone will crack your 170 WR because of the 20-30c lower temps they get by any other stepping (except B9's I guess lol):)
I have an X2 3800+ Toledo LCBQE. Does 3.2ghz @ 1.44v, but needs 25-30c to go past 350mhz FSB. My WR is in Old Faithful CCBIE 0608BPMW, which was nice at +5c.
Who is cracking my record of that Opteron 170 ? That will be very hard because of the little multiplier of that cpu.
This could be the start for water cooling with cold air....that will be the final key. Or an chiller like gianni ones....and we will get more than 3.7 ghz.
My LCBQE needs +10c to go over 360 mhz htt...
Prime will rocks with default vcore around 3.2 ghz...i have to put the evaporator loose to get temps above 0c because of the cold bug.
So long now its time for bed. see you ;)
This thread gets better and better as the days go by :D
What about this one, any potential?
Code:ADA3500DAA4BP
LBLLE 0521APGW
Z704944f51623
Venice core, by the way
my tip: don't bet money on it...
my LBBLE 0520CPMW was a crap with normal cooling... subzero => former wr
You'll never know what you get (coldbug) when you get an E3. I have an 0517xxxx that's pretty nice, can do 375mhz at the same temp as my 0526 won't boot at 334mhz. Didn't even try lower, because I already then new it was crap:D
I wonder if the last bios that ati made for manta would net me anymore.......I was limited to ram :(
Yes its real I validated it in the RD580 thread that i started....

took me a while to find but here's the validation for nay sayers.......

Boards capable If I can find some memory that agrees with it...5xHT multi, more than capable ;) I think that was a world record HT speed for manta.....

LOL the never-ending story about the Opteron 156 "ES" continues!:) After 2 months in the hands of mr x the sender got it in return for the THIRD time!
Holy mother! I bought it in AUGUST and this story isn't over yet:D
He sent me a picture of it, so I thought I could share it with you guys...
i donīt believe what i see.
and my ADAAA2800ACN5 is in CPU-Z 2600+.

My ex Toledo couldn't get 2.9GHz with 1.8V also LCBQE
Why ex? my MB died :( My DFi Infinity goes to haven/hell :D
So I must sell this CPU and get Intel platform. I know this is stupid but here (in CRO) is hard to get new s.939 mbo's so I have to. But i will keep reading this thread because i get new frends here and I was (?) a part of the great s.939 family here.
knopflerbruce, stunned_guy and gianni keep breaking the WR's and i congrats for the results these days knop
I enyoy seeing the s.939 WR from you guy's...
Thanks for the nice words:D Are you sure your mobo can take that high FSB? I know it's a DFI, but the infinity's must be of worse quality than the LP mobos. Or no-one would buy the yellow sexbombs;)
1.8v on a BQ! How hot was it?? Me and my bench-buddy call them BarbeQue's:D There's a reason for that...
939 is still decent, but DDR memory + CPUs + decent mobos are still kinda expensive, so no point in buying new stuff (unless you're like US:yepp: ). But you can go AM2!:D
MBO didn't like FSB more than 320 but the V can go to 1.95V
here somo ss of temps with 1.6V and 1.7V

about am2... i don't have so much money for good mbo and cpu and for extreme OC :D i getting Intel MBO for "gift" so i think it's better variant. but one day I'll come back to AMD I hope, soon :D
