Tell me about it, that's what makes it so frustrating but strangely rewarding.

When I mess around with it I just revert back to stock and make some changes and see how high I can raise the FSB @ stock Vcore & NB voltages. I then make more changes and start all over again. I'm not really sure which direction is best, all I know is what makes it stable and what makes it not so stable when I get there, sort of...... :eh:

BTW...my superpi times really seem to suck when compared to what eva2000 got on the 680i stiker in thread below

My board is alive again. Not sure what I did but I finally got rid of that "7F" error.
Now let's see if I can get the MWC30 to give me better temps than what I got with HR-05.

I just got this board installed today, E6600 is week 32B, memory is crucial 10th anniversary. CPU is water cooled. I am happy with it so far, seems to be stable. I think it has a lot of potential.

RD600 is working fine to atleast for med now, i got my second card this friday because my first realy brokedown:( but this wrks fine now ihope there is a new official bios around the corner:)

With all the core 2 motherboard, the DFI RD600 is the first for me to reach 500fsb and maybe more. Cooling the chipset with swiftech mc159....

Just got my pair of HyperX PC2-9200 2GB (D9GKX) to do 600MHz @ 400FSB on the RD600. Timings were 5-5-5-15-2T (SPD) but it needed about 2.57V. I'll post up a screenshot later at 600MHz with dual SuperPI 32M passes =)

Oh by the way, my D9GKX seems to love DIMM 2&3. Anyone else getting good OC with DIMM 2&3?

After about 1 month tweaking, I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. I have the MCW30 on the NB and it's giving me 50-52C in the BIOS and 54-55C in Windows. The temps were taken at 400FSB @ 1.53v on Nautilus500 kit (yea, I need a better rad)

Edit: I hate the fact that its freaking hard to remove the memory modules when you have a graphics card installed on the 1st PCI-E x16 slot. So my trusty X800XL goes to the 2nd PCI-E slot, which made my life much easier when swapping DIMMs.

I don't actually remove the graphics card when I remove dimms. Simply I push the slot back as far as it will go against the graphics card then I simply pull out the other lever opposite and pull from that side. The other side will come off and then it will pop out...

I use the same technique. Luckily this board is only used as a test bed & not installed in a case. Otherwise it would kinda sux.

very nice..I knew I saw a pic somewhere...looks real nice

I have a 120mm fan blowing on ram and NB HS but I really think this causing airflow turbulence and more wind noise than I want on my WCing setup...

So I like this setup with a new NB cooler ie Microcool Whisper XE..except cost factor

are slots 2&3 still Dual channel..is that a mix of yellow and orange

I thought it was 1&3 or 2&4 where DC

I read the manual....my understanding on the DFI boards was to stay same color on slots...
orange-orange
yellow-yellow

what was stated above is a mismatch of yellow and orange(slot 2/3)

I even asked RGone on this..he suggested orange slots were generally best

the manual seems to indicates that you can mix/match..yellow and orange and this would still be DC which is different than previous boards...never thought to do this..still seems odd if it works

Yea... I used to do this, but its kinda annoying especially when you are dealing with various RAMs such as the FlexXLC. Besides, some graphics cards with backplate or heatsinks on the rear makes removing DIMMs even PITA.

So, 2nd PCI-E x16 slot is good for me.

nealh: Yes, DIMM 2&3 is Dual Channel. You should give it a try if you're on D9GKX.

in my experience.. when I place my 2nd pcie video card on the 2nd pcie.. the speed is only 8x not 16x.. :(

Yes, both are supposed to be x16. But like erwinz, I'm getting x8 when running from the 2nd PCI-E slot too. I'll check with DFI about this.
