I was one of the 1st to get the Venice from NewEgg. I had it overnighted to me. The Venice on the DFI Ultra-D, really tested it's ability... This system typically runs a FX-55 and it's capable of 8X360FSB @ 200 1T 3-4-4-14
Specs
DFI nF4 LP Ultra-D
ADA3500DAA4BP
CBBLE 0512DPAW
BIOS: 310P
CPU: Maze4 Waterblock
Chipset: Stock Cooler
Memory: A-Data DDR600 2X256Meg @ 200 1T 2.5-3-3-14
eVga PCX5750 Video Card
Western Digital IDE 20Gig ATA100
Tagan 480Watt PSU
The system booted into Memtest86 at 10X300, but hung in test #4... Backed off to 10X295... Note Memtest mis-identifing the Venice...

The unfortunate thing with the A64 systems, is no half multipliers. This forces certain settings which may not be optimum. To back off on the multiplier to 9X would require the FSB to go to 327. The A-Data won't run that high at 2.5-3-3-14, so I'm stuck under 300... But the Venice is a real winner!

Note the poor memory bandwidth and the somewhat poor SuperPI score. I guess the 512K cache makes the difference....
Also note the CPU temp in the lower right hand corner... While I am water cooled, the FX-55 at lower speeds, ran the temp about 10°C higher...
Switched the FX-55 back into the system. While it's not memtest stable until I back down the FSB to 10X285, the bandwidth is 10-15% higher due to the 1Meg cache, I guess...
So, while the Venice overclocks higher then the FX-55 in the same system, the speed as measured by the bandwidth and SuperPI, is less then the FX-55....
At default Vcore, I could pass memtest at 10X275. Errors at 10X280....
yeah my 3500 is just hangin out at 2800 i got 3200vx so im stuck at 255 with it unless a divider but id rather get some better mem. i cant get into windows at 3ghz but i can with memtest at 1.7 volts. thats a little to much for me. oh and in memtest what does some of the test do i no 5 is mem but what are some others
2800 is not so bad. i hope mine can do that. i'm getting it today hopefully. what memory are you using? what heatsink? have you tried tweaking the bios with mem settings and such. i'll be running mine on an xp-120 with AS5 and i got an old ocz pc3200 with BH5 chips. my board is dfi lanparty nf4 sli-d. btw, does your memtest fail at test #5?Quote:

You running 2t Rebels? Cause my Winchester + 2x512 tccd In DC does ~3100MB/s in Memtest at 1t 2.5-3-3-7 at only 270 Mhz.
If you're set to 1t, try switching it to 2t and see what bandwidth Memtest reads there. I just want to be sure these cores aren't forcing you to 2t at some point.
Monarch has all speeds in stock in OEM :woot:
Diegos Too?Quote:

That is why I love these guys, they are honest about their dates....
And quantities - unlike those guys at Sparco who made a big fuss, a lot of promises, then shipped exactly _1_ CPU. :nono:Quote:

I just ordered a 3000+ oem from Monarch. :D
My 3000 order is already in the second week, I hope they'll ship it today.
I've never been in this situation before. I keep on repeating this is exactly why Dell does not want business with AMD. AMD cannot deliver as simple as that.
We really need Intel to get back on their feet again because if AMD becomes the only performance chip available this is what we shall be facing all the time.

You know.... I may NEVER buy another CPU from Newegg/ZZF.
I've been communicating with Joe from Monarch for a few days re: 4000+ and I get responses within 10 or 15 minutes... he's been upfront and helpful with all the dumb questions we were asking the last week, and is busting his tail to get orders upgraded to expensive NextDay Air shipping. This is a level of service I've never experienced before...
This is the 4th CPU I've got from Monarch in the past 6 months or so, and every time I save $$$ because I don't have to pay California sales TAX. it takes about 1 day longer than Newegg, but that's ok. I may just start buying EVERYTHING from Monarch.
