Waus-mod

I dont have a super pifast, but i just want to post it :D

Pifast: 53.59
Cpu: Amd mobile 2600+ MPMW 0352 (11.5x228)
motherboard: DFI lanparty NFII ultra b
mem: Corsair XMS3500 2x256 (XMS3502.v1.1 bh5)

The highest fsb to get out of this mobile is 250x10 (255 will boot but after 1 minute he is frozen or reboots)

I have the problem that my mobile wont get any further than 2649mhz :( im cooling it with water!

Despite the 1.85v limit, I'm going to try it with the Gygabite mobo (full 3dmark benchable setup) since my FX-53 dont nedd to many voltage (3.600 was done with only at 1.9v idle)

The previous record was done with just 512MB RAM on the GB, this time I'm gonna try it with 1024MB RAM - I suspect that will help ;)

Right My FX53/939 is an erly sample, need lots of volt. Your's is better to run on the Giga mobo.

tom howd u get 270 on the A8V?

u use high speed ram, or have super special BH5, or use a DDR booster?
or u used a mem divider?

Booster, Rammod, PSU mod ;)

Ramvolt = 3.9 volt

The mobo has better performance than Giga, and better corevolt. but its a hell, poor stability at that speed.
But it was stabil in 35.5 sek :D

If only I had a cascade to play with.......

I don't know why, considering we void our motherboards anyway in making a direct
off board supply, remove Power Mostfets and solder connections to a beefier off
board power source and do away with the power stability a 8 phase souce could
be very handy rather than 3/4/6 way per current designs on boards.

Something for someone to think about...

Sometimes when you give the MOB extra volt again and again, it migth die, og it might handle it for some time.

Here a picture of some of the asus board.(SK8V).I have more.
Btw A8V is a pain to work with.

What's the best frequency u get on a screenshot at 2.11-2.12v? 3.6GHz and more?

The A8v is the asus i was talking about, please let us know how you got past the overvolt protection with that board please sir, and pics of the A8V would be great :)

I don't have a safe, tested OVP-mod for the A8V. If I had, I had posted in the mod sektion. But some of the resistance is the same on SK8N SK8V and A8V.
The card died the next day, but it was doing 2.112 for 5 hours.
I only needed 35.5 sek!
The mem is easy, mod give you 3.05 volt, then ram-booster op to 3.9-4.0 volt.

Tom how did you get 3.9v to ram on the a8v asus when ovp kicks in on the ddr over 3.05v?

I'm just having trouble understanding how your the only person I've seen past 3.05vdimm on a ASUS A8V. Even with a booster the motherboards OVP will hold memory voltage at or below 3.05vdimm.

And also where are you getting this vdimm number at, in the bios or in windows ?

Seems like FX-52 rocks even with CH-5 memory, third run with my rig. Still trying to find optimal settings. Cooled with MachII r404

this board is realy bad on v-core :S this cpu can do 3.5 easy on superpi on asus a8v becouse it goes nice to 1.95v, with gigabyte its hard to get better than 3.45 @ the best of 1.8v :S

on pifast the best for today is 3.4

Well got add this one too, some improvement with Kingston KHX3000 and GB K8NSXP-939 modded, cooled with Prometia machII r404 mod.

Well, we are Numero Uno again (for 0.01sec) :D

We do a better score, but Win2K crashed at the easy part : save the screen capture :mad:

The comparison with our friend Tom is quite demonstrative of the importance of very low and well tweaked memory timmings (thanks CodeRed's A64 Tweaker ;) )

1 - Ricky & Pedro Rocha - 35.50sec - CPU@3.405 - 512 DDR@ 275 1,5-4-2-1
2 - Tom Holck - 35.51sec - 3.512 - CPU@3.512 - 1024@DDR 270 2-5-2-2

This means that better memory timmings are equivalent to more than 100Mhz in FX-53, which is quite amazing :slobber:

C'mon my friend Tom, turn on your -120ºC fantastic cascade, it is time to bench again :toast:

well first of all like i said i just thought yall would like to hear it.. I never said its my opinion... The forums are all about opinions and i just figured some people would wanna read it..

I also have an A8V and no matter what i do i cant get the ddr voltage over 3v or so.. It seems that noone can except Tom.. I just wish he would share the OVP mod with the rest of us ;)
