Anyone compare Load Line Calibration Level 1 vs Level 2? Slight and Moderate are very vague terms to me.....
Level 2 is a lot more than idle, such as Idle Vcore 1.44, Level 2 load Vcore will be 1.46/1.48 or so
Quick question : how can solve the annoying buzzing of PSU + mobo?
Thank you.
That kind of sounds for me are normal on all boards i had. When im running 3d mark or just push CPU to get LOAD board is buzzing.
p.s.
At friday i left my board in computer shop for RMA cause board coudnt start with memory on First white DDR3 slot - after putting 3x2 board started but coudnt see first mem so it was 4gb avaliable. just now they called me and told me that board is starting on many other mems without problem. Strange situation. Im going with my 3x2 Corsair 1600 XMS3 cl7, and i 7 930 to test them on this board.
Thanks Sam - So if we are not sure F7h has the new microcode I will install F7f to make sure I get the new code - since I am using 980x.
F7h has the new microcode and a gulftown fix for the auto vdimm
Disable the C1e, it will reduce it a lot. Enable the C3/C6/C7 State Support if you need power management.
Using a HDMI cable on your GTX 295 will make it shut up totally, at least mine did. But GTX 295 + HDMI works only in Windows, it won't show the BIOS screen, you have to switch the connector for that.
ok. Finally ive got my board started. I made my cpu 4.2 ghz and rest is in image

Is it ok? Should i raise or decrease some of those volatages? Its my first i7 cpu and oc was much easyer on qx9650:)
p.s
Just made 3dm2006 and after oc my 295 by 100mhz mems and core my score on 4.2ghz is 20010!! WTF? why so low?
It was some bug wich made sli off in drivers setup. After enable and a little oc i got 27000pts:)
Intel is clear, and has always been recommending LLC=stanard. But this has been having too much Vdroop on GA until now.
After updating to BIOS-F7f, the LLC=Standard is having the same Vdroop as LLC=level1 on my CPU :).
I'm using LLC=Standard now, and @4.1GHz(216x19) getting 1.296/1.280(Idle/Load)
hi!
Got my new ud7/i7 920 ready to play under water and so far this is what I got:

It's a golden batch i7 (3849B018) and I'm running:
res - mcp655 - mcr320 with 6x gt 1850rpm in push/pull - apogee xt / indigo extreme - mcr320 w/ 3x gt 1850rpm - ek ud7 block - res.
Now, where do I go from there to start playing for real? This puppy was running stock at like 1.08 or something silly like that...
update: it looks like it's prime95 stable so far... time for Linx or more speed/volts?
so I'm linx 20 pass stable at 215x21. I just realized I left my ram timing to auto, so they're loose. I'm running G.Skill ripjaws so i'm thinking 9-9-9-24-1T should be a good start at 1720mhz.
Do you think I can make it at 220bclk under 1.35-1.36v ? Let's try! :)
depending what ripjaws your using you should be able to manage 8-8-8-21Quote:

A little 15min prime. I have to explore the x20 and x22 multi too before deciding the final setup and final 24/7 stability test.
This seams to be pretty stable, and a really good candidate for 24/7 use.
The next BCLK, 221x19 seams to be stable too, but it needs 1.328v vCore which adds 3'C to core-temp, so this is the sweetest spot for 19x.
X5650 @4.18Ghz(220x19) 1.312v, VVT=1.32v :) 15 min Prime

Yo guys,
before I installed my HD5970 I loaded the BIOS "optimized defaults". I have got CPU Clock Drive 700 mV, PCI Express Clock Drive 700 mV now.
If I oc my system to the clocks in the signature again would it be better to set the CPU Clock Drive up to 800 mv and the PCI Express Clock Drive up to 900 mV ?
I am running Windows Vista, Windows 7 in a 64 bit mode and Windows XP Home in 32 bit mode. What would happen to the Windows XP partition if I change the HPET Mode to 64 ?
Fritz - for max oc (not 24/7) I am always using 900mv, 900mv on those settings. i found that 900mv on the pcie clock was needed for pcie of 119.
pcie 119 increases the storage subsystem performance when going for max pcmv scores.
900mv for the cpu clock might help cpu oc, not sure about that one though.
HPET on or off hasn't seemed to make any diff for me.
And is passes LinX anyways?
I'm having tough trouble with LinX, no matter what I can't make is go through 20 passes, and I'm smooth for near 6 hours running blend test on Prime? Other than that I have no other problems while working. I even disabled CPU Thermal Monitor in bios to avoid possible problems...
CPU PLL 1.800v .........................[1.86]
PCIE 1.500v ...........................[1.54]
QPI PLL 1.100v ........................[1.14]
IOH Core 1.100v .......................[1.58]
ICH I/O 1.500v ........................[1.14]
ICH Core 1.1v .........................[1.14]
How do you know you need more volt for these options?
WOW, please do not use 1.58 IOH core, hope that is switched around with IOH I/O, looks like you might have switched them.
Mine are all at standard but how do you determine a setting needs more?
Huigie - when ocing i usually bump all these up one click, rarely two clicks - the exception is cpu pll - this can increase both your oc and probably your temps as well.
The intel max reco is 2v, see below min and max -
