Thank you all for the compliments
@Radaja - 9oC blowing inside the case is great and you should be fine at 1.6vmch, I find that after 4500Mhz I need that to stabilize everything.
In my stability findings the Q9650 won't like anything beyond 65oC for long stress tests and the NB likes to stay below 50oC.
Above those temps anything can cause a Prime or IBT fail easily, despite stable settings and volts.
The Standard vs Turbo profile will play a huge role too, first stabilize everything is Standard/Auto then go the huge quest to Turbo/Manual PL8, sometimes this last one can drive you nuts on 10k, 1024k, 768k FTT's.

Guys
I know it isn't the right thread :( but anyone knows if TT PSU's have an internal pot to adjust 12V rails ? I've been searching a lot and i can't find anything...
Sorry but i need that help
Cheers

I'm Stuck inbetwen dividers
I can only get my q9650 100% stable at 4050mhz. I have a high vid of 1.262. I honestly don't think that the VID and the CPU is the problem.
I think I'm Stuck inbetwen MB dividers and my memory is not fast enough to step up to the next functional divider for my Motherboard!
I unfortunately bought OCZ (2x2GB) DDR3 Reaper 1333 9-9-9-20. My OCZ Reaper will not overclock anything above rated so I'm stuck with that speed.
My theory is that the Memory is ruining all my fun. My problem is that I can not find a divider that works well with my DDR3 at the slow speed that it can produce.
To test my theory I bought faster Memory of a different brand. I have not yet received it yet. But as soon as I get it I hope to prove that a poor overclocking Q9650 will do great with faster memory. Just because with a faster memory you are more likely to find a working MB divider.
If someone with knowledge can shed some light on the whole MB divider issue it would be appreciated.
In my past experience the CPU will open up full throttle when the memory speed or the MB divider is not limiting it.
You are most likely now thinking duh,,, that is a given. Of course it is, but we don't know what works from the beginning. Someone has to find the right settings!
Look at the Guys who do have great clocks on their Cpu's. They are certainly not memory speed limited! So they can use any divider they want!!!
I wish we could try to figure out what dividers work for different memory speeds like:
(PC3 8500)
(PC3 10666)
(PC3 12800)
(PC3 14400)
(PC3 15000)
(PC3 16000)
(PC2 to of cource)
That way all of us would know what kind of cpu performance to expect from a certain memory speed. Not the advertised memory speed but the actual memory speed. Since some memory overclocks quit well.
If you have a memory that can only do 13330 as fastest then expect 4ghz
if you have a memory that can only do 14400 as fastest then expect 4,4ghz with the memory divider that is possible use and so on.....
If we did. Then a guy with PC3 13333 would stop chasing the magical 5ghz
Maybe I'm all confused about this but....... In the past when I have been stuck at a certain overclock and later got my hands on faster memory and seen the results...... It just make me think!!!!
Extremsys Gurus,,, Shed some light on this!
