Keep in mind even with the currency exchange, products cost more to import into Europe and they pay a ton more taxes on each product
Cept maybe out here in CA where we can expect 8.25 % :(

25% VAT here, oh yeah. Cant wait to see the price on 280.
Btw, noticed this picture some days ago:

Cooler 'ready for G200 + RV770'. Doesn't really mention if it works with older models too though, is there still no decent info on whether or not current GPU coolers will fit?
I surely hope third party coolers will be available around release. 'Monster' GPU's need monster coolers ^^
price allready droped to 574€ plus this price includes 19,6% VAT.
I think well see prices between 500-550€ (incl vat) in europa.
I don`t know if anyone`s remembered, but the US dollar went down the drain a long time ago.
575.00 EUR = 892.470 USD
1 EUR = 1.55212 USD
However, because the cards ship from the US, transportation cost and multiple markups make the card more expensive than it should be. So the price in the US should be about $700 USD.
Perkam
The last card I owned was a 7950gx2 - sorry in advance for the noob question, but I assume air cooling will likely to be enough for the 280 (base retail - not modded or overclocked)?
Yes we all know 550 euro is about $850.....
But tech products never obey just the exchange rate, Everything electronic is so much cheaper in the US
the GTX280 will be about $600 in the US so it should cost us 384 euro in Europe.... But nope, We pay 550 euro or so :(
make your own hardware. :p:  :stick: then sell it to the yanks :ROTF:Quote:
We pay 550 euro or so
along with Eurosoft Finestre ! (or whatever the froggy word for windows is...fenetrage?)
That would be 'Fenêtre' :)
;).
Or "Janela" :ROTF:
It's always been like that, you can't do direct EUR <-> US price comparisions. If it's $650 in US I'd expect around 550 EUR in euroland (incl VAT). If US launch prices are more like $700 I'd expect EUR prices to be around 580 ~ 600 EUR etc.

I dunno if it's a bunch of gx2s or 280s (fully encased heatsinks are way too similar on the back)
but there's a shot of a 280 from the same source
