what are the majority of you doing with the transpiper... i'm running my board without the transpiper hooked up b/c i've no idea what's BEST. if i have to, i can try to mount a fan to it, but what orientation should i put it in, and should i do southbridge (inside case) or PWM mount (outside case)... also wondering if i should put it upside-down outside of the case...
i put mine on the pwm as its the highest point (heat rises) and also put a fan on it, mount it upright.

The voltages I used are really not optimized for 24/7 use. I was doing some testing/looking at waveforms so I jacked voltages up to a level I know would not be a stability issue while I was working with the board. NB and VTT were the only non-default voltages used. Nb - 1.61 and VTT - 1.60 with GTL at 112/112/115. On this board at the current speed NB GTL is the critical setting. I can change it a couple of points and the board will reboot while running Prime within a matter of minutes.

If you're using the memory in your sig there's no reason why the board shouldn't boot with default settings.
thanks for they reply dude, ie had this problem for a while now, i get stuck with the c1 and only and cheap stick of ram will get me out of it, when i first got my system booting from defaults wasnt a problem, it has just seems to happen over time, im starting to think maybe its my PSU, might look at one of those silverstone 1k.

Guys 10/19/07 Bios Beta is flawed and you should stay away from it.
Why?
Wasn't saving settings properly and crashing!
this is the reason i still use my bios savior... for whenever i get a DFI board again... i use it on Abit or DFI boards mainly. :) I have used it on so many diff boards that the wires going from the socket to the pci switch came off the socket... had to re-solder it the night b4. :)
so what BIOS is recommended at this moment in time... i need to flash my board as I just fired it up for the 1st time last night... still gotta put windows on it.
9/13/07 Official 10/5/07 Beta:)
thx man. where are you guys getting the betas? i'm looking at the OP and it links the official, but not the beta.
*Edit*
just googled to find the beta bioses, and found 'em here. awesome. :) can't wait to play!!! though i'll only have 2 hrs tonight and then my gf comes over... then i'm busy from tomorrow and most of the weekend. :( i have to work on saturday (no overtime pay!!!)
Will this do the job?

Dude that tape is AWESOME STRONG:eek: Better not remove that adhesive film this go around as you may need a chisel and mallet to remove:ROTF:
have you guys seen this?
is it a P35 or X38?

Says X38 on it... So I'm assuming it's an X38 board. Where did you get the pic?
Wish they were making the AMD 790 the same color scheme because the Minor Yellow sucks!
I just got to windows 1st time on this DFI T2R (didn't do a format... I had a P35 ICH9R Gigabyte before this, so just had to install NIC and whatnot)... I wonder if I even have to format, but in any case...
Smart Guardian tells me CPU temp is 28-30C while idle, but Core Temp tells me like 42C idle. Which is right, which is wrong? Is Smart Guardian telling me ambient temp, or is Core Temp the one that's wrong?
Core Temp and Reformat!
That card will be fine. no current cards push the bandwidth limit much. The design is to allow for more bandwidth in the future cards. And also keep in mind that sli is not yet an option on P35 or X38. that is where you would see a difference.
one of my ocz's just died, im thinking this is my C1 error all along....
