Slow down Dak! How am I supposed to get your lead to under 4 million if you keep folding over 100k ppd? :ROTF::ROTF::ROTF:
I am closer though!

Welcome back RR and anyone who's joined the team lately!:welcome:. Also congrats to WFO on his 17mil :shocked::clap:
I'm going to be down for a few days on my folding rig whilst I sort out a problem and reorganise....no more pie for a bit when that happens :( I put the old one back together for now meanwhile who wants to have a go at the problem??
I have two k9a2 platinum boards one 5050e processor so far. The first board although lit up won't give me any video signal. tried to clr cmos but did not help. Picked up another on ebay which booted fine started to load windows which needed format first, that was ok....started loading windows and bsod..... driver problem. Turned off to start again and now this one gives me no video signal to crt as well. Board lit up cards lit up in factall seems well apart from this. the cars work fine back in the old rig together with mem psu etc.
I will borrow a dvi screen tomorrow in case it is a frequency problem but other than that I'm stumped....... anyone got any ideas?
Check mosfets... some of the original k9a2 boards had bad mosfet issues.
What is to check?? what to look for?
Is it possoble to hold down certain keys during post to any effect ??
I am a believer in check the simple things first. Twice this week moving stuff around I forgot to plug the power lines in the cards. Next I would double check power supply.
Good luck
Okay, because I'm fed up with them I'll put up a little warning here:
If any of you are planning on buying more 295's for Folding, I strongly suggest to avoid buying an XFX brand card. Those guys are ignoring my RMA concerning CUDA computation errors on the second part of the card (as I wrote somewhere else already they happen with 59xx WUs and on GPUGrid) and they are convinced that if it runs Furmark and some games without problems they are free to do so. It looks as if I'm stuck with a borked card, fun fun. Don't buy XFX 295s.
when you rma stuff. just make up some reason like it worked yesterday and not today and you want a replacement. play dumb, dont show you have any intelligence and just say "It broke, me want a replacement".. if they ask you if you overclocked, say "what's an overclock? I have a watch on, it's a timex ironman from walmart, will that work?"... and eventually the csr will get tired of dealing with you and just replace it.. dont get into a technical conversation with them, seriously it'll just give them loopholes to find and use their scripted response book. just say, "it worked yesterday, and doesn't today. I want another one." and then just keep it to yes, no, and simple answers that lead to an rma#.
I swear it works everytime as long as it's under warranty. they dont want to deal with idiots, and it's easier to make you go away with a rma #, as long as you dont admit something stupid like you took it apart or overclocked it.
Well, it won't help at all, they say there's no error in their tests, and that they have been very thorough, yadda yadda. They're basically saying "F$ck joo, not our problem.".
Fun thing is that they and NVdia advertise with it's CUDA capabilities and they don't even test that.
that sucks... I've had a nasty taste in my mouth over msi and evga recently. they sent sold me gts250's, that are 65nm 9800gtx chips from mid 2008. I pulled the hsf's and checked after I saw the gpuz data that it was 65nm and July 2008 bios.
and I bought these because they were advertised as 55nm...
Yeah, those basturds do what ever they want and get away with it. I can't afford a lawyer so I don't really know what to do now. Ebay this piece of crap?
Send it to mee...... :D
Enough people have had issues with dual-GPU cards and folding that I usually don't recommend using them. Seems the 295s are more of a headache than the 9800GX2s were too. Single cards for me!
I rarely have issues with the single cards, that's why I run them :)
Points whores like me need to point out small victories when we can. The screenie below is for "points today." :ROTF:
