topboy DFI is gona make 680i board to http://www.vr-zone.com/index.php?i=4349&s=2 , and i hear there is bios in the testing atm but no official betas yet. And if u went for badaxe2 why spam this thread if u now even didn't buy this board? i think there is badaxe2 threads to some were on this forum...

It`s not a case of "Hating DFI". "First look", as the topic title says, was Tony's choice as the board wasn`t even retail when the thread was started. I spend time reiceiving email for this thread and i might think its for interesting information. But half time is for people who comes to flame DFI and don't own themselves the board. I got the board, i used to have P5W DH and with this board my cpu pass 4GHz easily (422 FSB with P5W DH, 450 FSB easily with this borad and can ortho 500FSB without problems) , my ram pass 600MHz 4-4-3-4 (422 with P5W DH coz divider 4/5 doesn't work and 511 with 5-5-5-15). It's a great board and like Kunaak said rockstable. Personnally i don't need a new bios , this card is perfect for me .
DFI are a 2nd tier manufacturer, they get chips later than the likes of ASUS and lanparty boards take longer due to Oskar working his bios tweaks. Until an official announcement is made about DFI being in financial trouble then I wouldn't believe a word about them being in trouble - just like any other company.
I've got the board, waiting to get the last parts to my water cooling :)
Simple solution...disable email notifications :) I subscribe to lots of threads on lots of forums. Nothing more annoying (to me) than having to delete a ton of useless emails. I just set my user CP as the "favorite" link and see everything I need to see when I pop in to forums. I don't need to fire up my email to see what's going on in threads I'm subscribed to...Quote:

No CPU in the socket will give NO beeps at all....even if you have Ram installed & even if that Ram already had an Error Beep on it.
C1 with the 6 second or so beep is a Memory Error. To rid this, remove all sticks of ram & try each & any stick you have in slot 3 until you get a post. Then put another in Slot 1 & fire her up. Hopefully, both sticks should work. If after several gallons of Coffee or Jack Daniels later & you are still C1-ing, RMA it`s Ass! ;)

I'd have to say that I am very pleased with the RD600 thus far.
1. I have been able to clock over 400FSB (could not do with my 680i)
2 I can run my RAM at specified speed of 1067MHz & 5-4-5-9 2T timmings or 925 MHz & 4-4-4-8 1T timmings (could not do with my 680i). I had to clock my RAM down to 800MHz & 5-5-5-12 2T timmings on the 680i.
3. RAID WORKS!!!! This was never completely fixed while I had any 3 of my 680i boards.
So far this is what I have:
CPU Freq: 435MHz
CPU Vid: 1.42500V
CPU VTT: 1.39V
NB Core 1.2V: 1.48V
NB PLL 1.8V: 2.03V
NB PLL 1.2V: 1.38V

I am using the Turniq Tower and HR-05 on the NB.
I've gotten as far as 450ish on the FSB but that took me one notch higher on the north bridge, think it is 1.51 or 1.53v. Since this is 24/7 I wanted to stay below 1.5v for now and play with the GTL REF's some more and see what that gets me.

I have both...the Thermalright is larger, and thereby provides better cooling with less airflow. The Noctua has two pipe, sure, but they are smaller(whole unit is at least an inch shorter), and I'm pretty sure that the gas inside is different, as the thermalright unit seems to have a higher thermal capacity than the Noctua.
ALOT harder to mount the Thermalright units tho(I have both the SLi and the regular...SLi performs better)...very easy to chip a corner off of chipset if you are not careful.
Oh, and BTW, the Thermalright unit is contructed of the same materials as the Noctua, but is nickel plated. :fact:
