I don't really know any noise stats but mjgent pmed me and said the RD-30 was slightly louder than the RD-20. I think they would both be relatively quiet when undervoltedQuote:

pretty small actually. Incredibly small for what it does too.

What I want to know is what shipping will be used to order them on monday, trying to figure out how soon I can get my hands on mine :slobber:
nikhsub1 will the meanwells fit in the hard drive rack on the Mountainmod case? I remembered a while ago with you having a picture of a meanwell fitting in there.
So, getting close to order point. How many are in on the buy?
I have been doing some searching. Will we be able to get a groupbuy on the meanwell ac-dc powersupply aswell? I for one would like to have a separate supply, instead of drawing on the excisting powersupply.
On the meanwells site they have the following prices on the S-240 series:
1-9 ~$108
10-24 ~$92
25-99 ~82
So if more than 10 needs it, we are looking at 15% off :)
And in the unlikely event that 25 needs it, almost 25% off...
EDIT: for the record... I did not offer to arrange the buy... as it would be extra costly to ship the stuff over here first. Would have to be someone local :)
count me in for one of the S-240-24's :)
yeah, I guess I could get in on that meanwell action too if you guys setup a group buy. except I think the s-200 is prob powerful enough for our application guys. I would personally go in on a group buy for that.
after all is said and done, we've got 16 pumps being ordered as of right now. For the record, only 2 ppl are going with rd-20's .. woo...!
Well, in the end for 15$ bucks more you get to put "30" in your sig, and get same or better performance than a 20 with a pump that will last longer (undervolted), undervolting which is not a problem because were all gonna need converters or transformers anyway... :D
You gonna keep your 20 or switch to a 30?
So is really, really RD-30 as silent as RD-20 when both are undervolted performing the same (same flow rate, head pressure etc)? Because if they are of course the RD-30 is a better decision (since undervolting is possible). If RD-20 is indeed more silent than RD-30 at the same flow rate (performance), then I'm staying with my RD-20. Anyone know for sure?
I don't see the s-200 on the pages, but they do have a s-210 that has 8.8A on the 24V. Isn't the RD-30 rated as 10A startup?Quote:

Dont matter, you dont need to cover for the full startup current. Something like half of it is fine.
I see.
Well then, looks like I'll be in on the s-210-24, if someone (pretty please) decides to get it. :toast:
Does anyone know if there is the possibility of the RD-20 being actually LOUDER than the RD-20? If RD-20 is as silent as the RD-30 or even quieter than the RD-30, then I'll definitely stay with the RD-20. (NOTE: This would be at the same performance of course!!)

Honestly, if you guys want, I'll setup a group buy for a s-150, as that's all any of us need, that would prob be about another 10 bux off making it about 35 bux+ ship for us all. If you guys want to do this I can arrange that also. I'll need to call around to see where we can get the lowest prices possible. And I'm keeping my RD-20 and the 30, I need to run tests for both. I might have a mini review comparing the 2 pumps later :)
Grrrrrrr.... so hard decision! I really want silence, but if one can bring both for only $15 more of course it's worth it. But is the RD-30 really, really, really just as silent? And btw, did you really mean the fan of my Seasonic S12 600 (around 25 dBA during normal usage) will render the RD-30 inaudible? Because that just sounds too good to be true.
What is the difference between the RD-20 and RD-30 really?
Main difference:Quote:

No, really. Is RD-30 just higher quality, or has it got noisier parts? I'm interested in the difference since I'm more than willing to get the RD-30 if I can get it just as silent as the RD-20 at the same performance. :)Quote:

Just out of curiosity, may I ask which Zalman VGA HSF you got? Btw... how long are you staying online (ie so I know how much time I got to decide)?
Let's say you have an RD-30 and RD-20, both at 24V. RD-30 will perform better, but will be noisier. You could lower the RD-30 to, say, 20V and it will probably still perform better, but be quieter.Quote:

Thanks. I was worried where I would mount the thing.Quote:
