Each one of my 4 cards so far BFG 7900 GTX have had different TOD (time of deaths)
2 of them were from CompUSA, 2 from Dell. Lasted Dell 5/19/06 shipment of 2 both died.
One of the cards lasted 2 days, other lasted until midnight last night.
Cards still do function, however will not complete Deep Freeze test, gets almost to end and gets blue/green/red stars then grinds to a halt, monitor flashes, wait long enough get BSOD nv4_disp. I can still put these defective cards in and play BF2 and other games just fine, however occasional triangle effect might appear.
All cards were strong and did at least 710/930, I did not stress the cards only tested what the optimal speed was then ran a quick 3dmarks2006 1 time.
Just to put into perspective last night's card that died was running STOCK speeds in 74'F temp room card temp around 50-55'C under full load for a week. If I was overclocking it for the last week then maybe was my fault (even though it'll be the first card I've killed in my life)
Since the first 2 cards died at random times I've left others at stock while running 3dmarks 2006 torture tests of Canyon flight HDR and Deep Freeze HDR since I bought a license I can loop it.
So far I only have 1 usable 7900 GTX which was a RMA pre-tested from first defective card 3 weeks ago. Still going strong but only does 830 memory (leaving it at stock anyway)
Today I am receiving another replacement that was tested for 3 days up to 70'C temp and looped in Deep Freeze HDR.
Anyone else having problems like this? I can't be alone according to my googling lots of RMA'd cards.
