what pencil can i use to do the line? i don´t know how its called in english, but does it work the tipical pencil that every1 uses for math exercises? lol, the black one like carbon lol

You need conductive ink man, I believe you can only use the pencil for the vmem trick. But people were saying that if you dont have a multimeter the way to check if it worked is to open the nvidia control panel and go to clock frequency settings and use the "auto detect optimal clocks" or whatever option and if it auto detects somewhere in teh 600's it worked. BUT it would not auto detect any higher then it did before the mod so I kept thinking it did not work. Finally after getting pissed off because I re-did a bunch of times I used ati tool and bumped it over to about 630. I checked it and got no artifacts so I went in game to see if there was any artifacts and there was none. SO I kept bumping it up in atitool until it showed artifacts which was around 657.Quote:

Good idea, I would have suggested to you to get a different card if being able to mod the card was important to you. But I wasnt sure how important VIVO was to you either and since theres only one out there right now your choice would have been limited to that one card. I got the XFX Extreme edition the first day they were released. Im glad I did as all I hear is people complaining about availability for a few weeks afterward and even now I still hear it. I'd suggest getting the card I did if you can find it, its a good price, it overclocks just as much and even more (mine did at least) then the xxx edition that costs over $40 more and you can get the new tomb raider game for free if ya hurry up.Quote:

I might end up with one then. Ordered the 520/1500 version from the Egg, but still havn't got any shipping info on it... I'll be sure to take some photos of it if nobody else has.
yeah I got the 520/1500 version as well but this was the day they came out and it was a green pcb. I actually got up to 670 on the core while playing Oblivion so im gonna push it to the max tomorrow when I get time. Hopefully it'll go a bit higher. This was only a 1.4 mod as well. GOing to see Silent Hill tomorrow, hope its scary and is a good movie.Quote:

I thought it was only with the XFX 7800GT cards though, the black PCB ones. There was only one xfx 7800gt back then with a black PCB. It was a very known problem even on the official xfx forums that the stock cooler fan would NEVER stop spinning at 100%, even during idle or browsing the web. There was nothing you do could about it, I took the stock cooler off though and put a silencer on and that was the only thing I could do to get that noisy fan to stop. Didnt know some of the 7900gt's have the issue now too. Not sure if its the same cause though, the xfx cards had an actual hardware problem.

huh? who was talking about mod issues and they more then likely changed because of the added vivo like was stated earlier. I could think of no other reason why the layout would be changed.Quote:

Update. I had to knock my memory down to 900, 990 had massive artifacts in 3dmark03. I'm going to check voltage again today on the vmem and see how that is. Knocking the memory down to 900 only lowered my 05 score to 10481, so only 200 points, not bad.
Also when I was using powerstrip I would raise/lower my memory speed and hit apply and the screen would go blank for a second and then ask me if i wanted to keep these settings? Well anything above 947 it wouldnt do the blankscreen for a second. I would hit apply and then it just ask if i want to keep these settings? isnt that odd? So like 947 would do it but the next. 950+ wouldnt.
