yea you should be able to according to the pics. It is the same program used on the current X1800 line of cards for adjusting volts and clocks.
BTW, according to the last update it looks like 2D volts are lower than that of the 2D volts of the X1800 line of cards. Might keep things a bit cooler in the end which is good.
Is the 7900 series gonna have voltage options too? :)
ati tool next beta will support voltage adjustments for x1900 cards.
Atleast we won't have to wait to get oc'ing
Prices from the US: X1900 XTX $649
That doesn't make any sense....Did ATI not incur ANY additional cost going from X1800 to X1900 ????!!!!!...cos that'd put the XT at $599, just like the X1800XT MSRP.
I'm confused here
Perkam
well its about the same size core right?
so if ram prices are lower on the higher speed stuff then it should line up nice..
Seeing as this is the pre-release info thread...I imagine actual release info would be in another ? http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...t=86106&page=2 ;)
Perkam
x1900 is the replacement gpu for the x1800, kinda like the r360 replaced the r350. Why the confusion? It's already known that the r520 isn't even being fabbed anymore...even when the demand for the x1800's are so high...because of the yeild issue of the r520.
Cadaveca, I'm seeing X1900 prices in NA at X1800 price levels...can you seriously tell me that isn't alarming ?
Perkam
nope. not alarming at all. GDDR prices are less than it was when sapphire purchased the ram for the r520(long time ago now), and the savings are passed onto the consumer, as well as the shorter warranty period kicking in it's share too...you know the can make smaller runs this way and be more cost effective...and have to retain less stock. works out well, if you ask me. what's so scary? Like really?(insert blond with dumb look here)
BTW, the canadian dollar is pretty stong as of late, and that has helped out quite a bit as well.
ATI and nVidia are playing the waiting game for unified shading. Waiting for the software, of course. these products are just to keep consumer interest up.
It isn't since the 1900 is the 1800's replacement. The 1800 will drop in price if not completely gone from shelves by the time the 1900 is releasedQuote:

What excites me is that ATI put the R520 on the backburner pretty quickly and transferred majority of their resources towards the R580 early on. While it is accurate to say that the R580 is a revision based off the R520 architecture, it is not accurate to assume that they are developed the same way or even by the same team or that they tweaked the R520 core to achieve the R580 :nono:
This should be the REAL R5xx :)
Perkam
so whats the G71 going to be called? 7900?
Looks like it.

According to what I've read, yes. :)Quote:

Perkam, I don't like the following line in your news post:
"its sure to take the performance crown back from Nvidia’s ghostly GTX 512MB."
If you simply remove the word "back," you can clear the snippet of any trace of bias and the statement says almost exactly the same thing, thus preserving credibility. I do think it sounds a bit biased. Just one man's opinion.
wow, i cant wait till these next gen cards come out
