Keep up the great work HiPro!
So I ran off afterwork to buy all the parts but couldn't find a single SMD capacitor around here.
But I had found lots of "junk" or excess parts everwhere. Can someone recommend any item out there that may have all the caps already which I can desolder and salvage off? Perhaps some old cheap VGA card, or IDE card?
I found a 5.5K VR which I had the shop tweak to 3.2K so I will try that mod later.
Also, is there a droop or vcore mod for the P4GD1? I found the vdimm and variable vdimm mods, but not these two. I want to have everything all modded up before I pull the cpu from the p4c800-ED and swap it over for testing.
damn ASUS Engineers :(Quote:

So,the VCCA was the big secret for Dothans. Thanks for shareing with us.
Keep it on bro, very good info here!
So clean....good job there mate. Good pic too
yea, really clean vmod there.
maybe they used a common one but renamed it or had it renamed by the mfg? :DQuote:

It sure it will be . I'm selling my p4 sys on ebay so i can get 780ES from Germany;)Quote:

I have a question, is there a difference between PM 780 and PM 780ES, that everybody talks about lately?
As far as I know, the ES has adjustible multipliers.
Well does this ES mean Engineer Sample? But isn't every dothans lock free? That i have tought... On P4 theres ES CPU's wich are lock free. Others are locked.
Well back to topic, HIPRO5 you are amazing! :D Keep that up! I might try your mods when i got needed parts. But so far that looks sooooooo nice! Excellent work! :toast:
I just first have to get another adapter too... :)
Multis are unlocked down only, like on most a64s except FX

btw... i will do these mods. saaya, do you think that the pin closest to the "W" on the bottom of the adapter is limiting my overclock if it has bad contact? my adpater came with it missing, so i put a pin in the sokcet. its been stable so far, but it hasnt oc'd all that well.
just for the confused people, pentium-ms are unlocked downwards, like a64s. engineering samples are unlocked in both directions, like axps, and celeron-ms are locked to a single multi, like p3s.
well, in the p4c bios it says my Celeron-M has unlocked multi..Quote:

Celeron M's are all locked.....

I bought enough of these to make 20 kits. The SMD 3.3k resistor is on back order and will be here next week. I will sell these kits at cost plus shipping. PM me if your interested. It would be great if someone in Europe could make up these kits. For me to ship them to Europe would ruin cost effectiveness.Quote:

@Hypro 5, are this <a href="http://www.mouser.com/index.cfm?handler=displayproduct&lstdispproduc tid=273372&e_categoryid=304&e_pcodeid=6481 3" target="_blank">1uF 25Volts Murata......Part No: 81-GRM426X105K25L </a><br /> to be placed instead of the 63V 1uF, if we happen not to find the 63V ones?
For people looking for components I made this:

You can place the manufacturer parts at mouser or rs-components webpages to find the components.
Other image coming in a few minutes. Hope it clears up any doubts.
Here it is, keep in mind hypro has still to confirm if you can put those 4 25v caps instead of the 63v ones:

EDIT: THe jumpers were circled on the image I edited. You don't have to put any component there.
On the website, it says 800 are in stock?? Did they tell you they'll take over a week to reach?Quote:

I really hope this will work fine with the 400FSB jumpers, as a few P4C800 Deluxe boards (including mine) won't boot with the 533FSB jumpers :(
tbh i have no jumpers at all, so i'll let you know how the mod worked :)Quote:

I was told to use the 400FSB jumpers, and haven't looked back since.
