thank god I have 1
I just bought the Liberty 500W and thought I'd make a small mini-review of this PSU. I know my comp and especially video card are pretty weak but I hope this will help someone out.
Well I just bought and installed this thing in the comp.
First of all I was impressed by the weight of the box, then impressed again by how awesomely cool it was packaged with the black "Enermax" bag for the peripheral cables.
The unit is beatifully designed.
The fan is pretty quiet, right now running at 1084RPM, which is under full load of 2x Folding@Home
I ran some quick tests and was pleasantly surprised by the stability of this unit.
Here are the current specs:
CPU: P4 NW 2.4C running at 3.3GHz @ 1.575v.
Video: Radeon 9500Pro @ 350MHz core/310MHz RAM (620DDR), uses 5v rail for power.
RAM: 220MHz @ ~3.3v (via MBM5), 5:4 divider.
HD: Maxtor DiamondMax 80GB.
Optical: 1) Toshiba x40 CD-ROM. 2) NEC 3540A DVDRW.
Fans:
1) 1x 60mm 4K fan on GPU (stock AMD HS)
2) 2x 80mm standard fans (about ~3k RPM, guesstimate)
3) 1x 92mm 2700RPM fan on HSF (Zalman 7000Alcu)
4) 1x 120mm Thermally controlled fan (PSU)
The readings were taken using a cheapo DMM.
Readings were taken in Idle, Load (2xPrime95), Game load (UT2004 + 2xPrime95):
