I am sorry. I do not understand why there is a post count to be able to purchase items for sale. I can understand why there is to sell. People have to feel comfortable that they aren't going to get ripped off. But to purchase, why 100 posts? Why not 1 post? As long as the check clears the bank or the PayPal balance is tranfered to the bank, it should be a done deal. I am no where near 100 posts, yet I am a frequent reader and I participate when I have something to contribute. So instead of being able to make incredible offerings to m8's here, I have to sell on ebay, in which I have 50 feedbacks @ 100% positive. I am fixing to have to list a 3500+ in a retail box that has been used in my rig for 4 months, plus it comes with the remainder of the 3yr warranty for $100USD off of the current retail price. I could list it for a bit more, but I need a quick sale. Same for a brand new X800XT that has never been used, and this will be an unbeliveable low price. I would rather have a chance to offer it to these m8's that I actually interact with as often as I feel like I have something positive to contribute, rather than a strager I have never had any interaction with, know what I mean? I understand rules are rules. And I have to abide by them. It's just that 100 posts for a m8 like me will take a while. And in the meantime, the members here will be missing out on some great deals that I have from time to time. That's all.
^^You can still use other peoples credit cards and whatnot. At least when you've been on the forums for a while, the people have a better feeling of who you are and what you may try to pull. :nono: :slapass:

Plus its a waste of bandwidth if just anyone was able to use them
Hey Cerberus... nice seeing you on XS :D
I completely agree with the mods choice of 100 posts..... it's tough to get there, but it gives the members of the forum more time to get to know you and how you act. I won't buy from someone I know is a pain in the butt on the forum just because I feel he doesn't deserve my business.
Personally, I would have made it higher but then that might drive off some good sellers.
i just noticed i've ticked over the 100 post mark... so i thought i'd check out the for sale forums... but i still cant get at them  any ideas?
Pleeeeeaaaaseeeee... Could you read thru this thread before asking this question? You passed 100th post 20 minutes ago. Go back few posts and read what other mods and Admin say about it ;)Quote:

Now I know this is going to be a rather common question that some people just wont get.Quote:

2nd, It gives other members on the site a chance to get to know you a little bit. Its not alot, but a touch.
3rd, We as Xtreme Systems Staff have discussed and agreed this is a worthwhile move to attempt to make our classifieds safer for our members.
4th, Xtreme Systems is not a classifieds forum. It is a forum for like minded people to share their thoughts, views and accomplishments on computer hardware. The classifieds are simply a way to help our members by providing a safer place to do buys/sells/trades.
Finally, like it or not, it is a rule that is here to stay, accept it or deal elsewhere. ~_^

No problem, just gets a bit tiring answering the same question all the time. ^_^Quote:

I think we should make it 200 posts so I can have a celebration post and complain why I can't use the For Sale forum until it updates :D.
Another oddity about the FS forum: posts don't count for the post count it seems??? I noticed a someone there had 101 but like 5 posts in the section and then noticed that when I posted it didn't go +1.
A recommendation for the FS forum, like the regular forum, is to have a 'free' edit for the first 2-3 minutes or so (but acknowledge the edit, unlike in the regular forums), then lock it.
The limit to no editing is stayin the way it is. Just an FYI. ~_^
As for the no post count, no, they dont count in there, or in a few other sections either. To easy to spam in those places, so no counting.
THe no editing and 100 post limit are fine enough, both have a valid reasonm which I believe has been discussed a few times by now :)
I think the chat section should not count to the overall post forum, I'm horrified when I see I have a 6+ posts a day average primarily due to that place :p:
No No No! It's hard enough to get 100 posts when everyone on the forum is smarter then me.... They all seem to reply faster with better answers then I can come up with. :p:Quote:

As for the editing, I still don't see why a 2 minute window isn't allowed....even after previewing, etc., I still notice some word I misspelled or some detail I forgot or something I want to add or messed up on some formatting stuff (this should never happen with preview, but w/e). The small 2 minute window prevents people from making drastic changes to save their asses in whatever way they might need to do, which I completely agree with.
Anyway, I'm not really pushing for a rule change, but I'd just like a clearer explanation why a 2 minute editing window isn't okay? btw, I'm not talking about 2 minutes to decide to edit, I mean 2 minutes to COMPLETE the edit
I'd actually go for 2 minutes after you post you have the option of editing.... because I make a lot of errors in my posts or I forget to put the prices in, something always goes wrong. Interesting idea anyway.Quote:

Cash is cash and it doesn't matter if it comes from a noobie like myself or a veteran member. Actually, if you think about it, a much higher price would be had from the noobies for a few reasons: 1) noobies have not acquired the "skills" to make custom things and are willing to pay top-dollar to have something they want, 2) noobies likely don't know a good price from a rip-off. I really think the admins should re-evaluate their policy on 100+ posts. Just b/c I have made few posts on this forum does not mean I'm clueless as to what I am doing, plus, I'm willing to spend more money on top of the line custom jobs than 99% of members.
