Secondly, Venice's improvements come in the form of SSE3 as well which already raises its speed clock for clock vs Winnie and could well mean that a Venice at 2.8 may well be going head to head with an FX (cos of 90nm+soi+SSE3).

I have seen charlie hit 3GHz suicide screenshot but it wasnt close to stable. That reviewer got 2.88 stable on the Venice. I have seen people hit 2.8 on the winny but not stable at all except maybe for a quick sandra or pifast run. If the occasional winny does that high, I would not be supprised to see the occasional Venice do over 3GHz. I can do 2.6 on my winny but its not stable past perhaps 2.45 whereas ill probably get 2.6-2.7 stable on a speedbinned 3000+ Venice with 2.8-2.85 for quick 3dmark runs :D

That not a problem, but he leads his speculation to be factual information. He says "I hear", or just plain out says that this will do better than that with no facts to base that information on.
Speculation is fine, as long as you let it be known that way, and not make it seem like you have based this on facts and misinform many.
Yes one could assume that their better silicon would be used for the higher end processors, but assuming that it will clock higher etc etc is not known and shouldn't be said.
Oh btw, the fx series is their flagship not the 4000 =).
If you look at almost all of geforce's post you will see this misinforming going on quite often, and it is well known. I am just getting tired of seeing it. Then have someone post in another thread, well I saw someone said that this processor can do this clock on avg, so why doesn't mine? When they go buy something off of this information etc.
This is all going way off topic though, anyone seen any online retailers with the venice? Monarch still doesn't as of 8 CST.

Everyone is welcome to state their opinion, even those way off in left field ;) We do a lot of speculation around here, nobody should take anything as empirical fact without reference to say AMD's tech docs . . .
Back on topic, I'm personally wondering how traditional retailers are going to advertise that these are Venice core CPUs (most don't actually give the codename) - Winchesters are 90nm already, think perhaps "Supports SSE3 Instructions" or the like will be used?
most stores list the model number, and we are looking for BPBOX insted of BIBOX.

Just spoke with a monarch employee on the phone. He said as soon as they get some information as when they will recieve them and whatnot they would be listed on the website. He said he figured it would be about 2 weeks until they actually had them in stock, though.
