uggh i hadnt run 3dmark or gamed in a while and now this card wont even do 294/635 like it had been previously! i get artifacts galore now!!!!
rrr i hate this card!
hopefully someone will buy it on ebay cause i am thinkin of sellin it if vmoddin it doesnt work

Well Dont sell it broken. And if you do state that the card is used. con-ing peeps on ebay isnt cool. But its your call.
Best to do is i can call albatron and see if they'll rma it for you. Theres a program that tests for artifacts, not sure whats its called tho, But id like to test my card be4 i send it back. cuz i was having trouble on stock mhz.
You should try different drivers.. my card loves the lastest offical geforce drivers.. i mean damn i havent noticed 1 problem since.
maybe i will try new drivers
the card isnt broken in the sense it wont run stock values. it runs stock fine and it runs 294/606fine as well just the ram has stopped going much higher than 620 for me now so hopefully vmodding it will work but i dont wanna vmod it until i can check the voltages of the card...
also, what do you think a safe voltage for the ram is? is 2.8v still safe on videocards like it is on normal ram (corsair even says 2.8v is 100% safe)
well im not to sure what voltage.. but i think 2.8v is standard. i believe your safe up to 3.0v. you might wanna ask sysfailur.

Yup, you should definitely be able to get more speed out of that 2.8ns RAM. The GPU is another matter though. It seems like Ti-chips manufactured after a certain date (moved to another machine when the GFFX ramped up?) attained either lower yields or just plain less-clockable chips? Anyway, good luck with the modding, I hope you can increase the performance past Ti4600 specs. :)

That means, unless I'm offtrack, that's the modules on his cards use GC28 parts which should allow for high RAM overclocking.. :)
well These are 3.3ns cards.. theres no way in hell albatron would use 2.8ns on a ti4200.. its just common sense.
Vmodded the memory..
@2.86v 300.4/661.5mhz (low level via riva) Med artifacts.. (is alot worse at 2.8v.
im gonna try higher voltage and see if the artifacts will go away.
EDIT: 300.4/661.5mhz @3.0v Still gets artifacts... So either The memory seriously sucks ass, or maybe its just my luck.
i hope to gawd The card with the better memory wont pull this crap. :(

so dissolved, you can run the GPU at a higher speed after you vmodded it or could you always run at 300? i can only do 294/625 now this sucks!
be4 vmem modd 300/650 was my higest w/o artifacts..
i CAN run 310/650 w/o any noticeable artifacts w/ the vmem at 3.0v..
The memory will not do anything higher then 650 even at 3.0v
So i guess this memory really is horrible. Tomorrow, or tonight if i feel like it im gonna vmodd the GPU, and see what i can get.

But I know the Samsung memory chips on the Albatron cards are not good.
My Memory is the samsung (not sure which model ill have to look tomorrow) It WILL NOT do anything higher then 650mhz even after volt modded @3.0volts. I'll get heavy artifacts at anything past 650mhz.

Anyway, I wonder how the heck you guys can get 650Mhz out of your ram while I can't get past 575/580 with my Hynix 3.3ns RAM on my Abit 4200 OTES without artifacts... Crappy voltage regulators on the card?

Anyway after the volt mod:
V.gpu:1,765--->310 (295 before)
V.mem:2,965--->640 (620 before)
I'll contact Albatron for change "turbo" into "diesel" ;)

310/640 is still very low for this card. You should hit alot higher.. maybe try 1.9v gpu, and 3.0v vmem and see what you can clock to?
i hit 310/650 w/o voltage mods..
I've found a review of our loved/hated video card,unfortunately
it's in Greek :mad: anyway I was able to see some interesting things:
-the 4200p turbo in the review uses the old heatspreaders with the hole,but the ram is not Etrontech but Samsung!!
-they were able to overclock the baby 320@710 !!!

The review was done on Oct 22, 2002 which was before we realized the new batches produced a different card not OC'ing as high as before...consistent with the other early reviews, that's all...
I've moved on with that card...I actually got some Leadtek ti4400 which could be OC'ed without pushing at 315/700 for the same price...

blah i am not gonna even bother any more.
honestly, benchin isnt everything, if i can play UT2003 smoothly at 1024x728, which i can, why bother doing anything until doom3 comes out (i can barely get 30fps in the alpha).
hopefully the geforce FX price will be lower by then or atleast the 9700pro.

after adding .04vmem my card has been 100% flawless in hours of gamming at 310/650.. kinda strange..
my card gets here tomorrow so ill see what she'll do stock, then ill vmod her :)
