With my OCZ PC3700eb's (2 X 512) there was a 1000 point increase from 2T to 1T (sandra bandwidth score)
here is a couple of links to research on:

thanks .. there was a lot of good info there.
i have a pair of 256mb modules of mushkin black memory so am trying to decide between a 3500+ or instead get a 3000+ and another 2 sticks of 256mb
I just switched over recently from Intel, and I remember reading somewhere that the 939 platform didnt care too much for 4 sticks of memory. I breifly had 4 X 512 sticks in mine ok, the only thing was it was limited to latency timings of the weaker set of Adata PC4000.
Have you been able to use BH-5 sticks alright with A8V? I have, besides A8V, 3000+ winchester and 2x256mb KHX3200 BH-5. I can't run the system stable even at 200mhz on the memory. When memory speed is 200mhz, it won't even go to windows. 166mhz works fine. What could be the problem?
really glad I just found this thread, im having a few problems getting stabilty.
I have:
FX53, Ocz Platinum 3200 Rev2, 74gb Raptor, A8V Deluxe Rev2, 6800 Ultra, Antec 550w.
I was running the system with the 1009.002 bios and at 245fsb I was getting random BSOD and reboots or not rounding errors on SuperPi. (2.5-3-3-10 1T 2.8v) at 200fsb 2-2-2-5 it worked without probs. It seems from this thread that the 1009 early bios (oo2) has problems over 240htt?
I think I will try finding the 1009.004 beta bios and see if that helps. When trying 2T everything seems to be ok but I could really do without the 1000pts loss.
Also is the HTT freq best left at 800mhz, 1000mhz or 600mhz? I know on the Neo2 is HAS to be 3x (600mhz) in order to get any overclock at all.
Could anyone please post screen shots of their "memory configuration" under the Bios... many thanx :)
ps.... is there any reason to upgrade my PSU from an Antec Truepower 550w to either a PCP&C 510 Turbo Deluxe or OCZ powerstream 520w ??
How can i increase The Vdimm in bios without this Vdimm-Mod ? and where can i set Vcore in Bios?
htt max. is still 300?
have somebody a link for 1009-003 bios?
Hi, im new to this forum and in my other forum nobody could help me.... so here's my system
A8V Wireless Edition Rev2.0
A64 3200+ Winchester
2 x 256MB Corsair Platinum Edition PC4000
my problem is that i cant go over 230MHz FSB :( this is because i cant put the vcore over 1.450 volts... it dusnt matter how much i set, i always get 1.45! how can i change this? I got the BIOS 1008.003, if I flash it, will it go higher?

bios 1009.006

What settings have you changed from default in the bios to achieve 300fsb? andy mods at all? I can only get around 280 to be stable, anything above that and i just get random lockups. I also know I am not cpu limited so I am pretty sure it is the mobo :) Thanks for the help.
I'm having problem running even at default speeds (loose timing) at 1T. Totally unstable..blue screen and/or prime fail immediately.
Using double sided samsung tcc5's which are supposed to be DDR466 (Adata brand)
Don't have another pair of ram to test. It's ok though running single channel on a piece of D43.
Do you guys think it's the board, rams or the winnie?
am I likely to have the stability problems using a MAch II GT on this board with the 1009.006 Bios and an FX53?
Are the cold issues solely with the Winchesters?
By the way... the 1009.007 BEta's are out :) Just got mine but cant tellt he diffeence just yet
Folks, I'm looking to expand the Case Files and the memory compatability sections in this thread at OCF:

Any contributions will be appreciated.
Probmaker:
AFAIK No Rev 2.00 boards are wireless edition ones (Please correct me if I'm wrong).
Usually you would have to flash to the 1005.002 or 1005.003 BIOS to get the PCI/AGP locks working. No other BIOS version seems to have helped (again, I'm not too sure).
You may have to reset the CMOS to solve your voltage problems. It is surely a BIOS error. Try flashing to a 1009.xxx beta and see if that helps before you rest the CMOS, as it could save you some time.
Cashman:
Are you facing any problems with the x.007 ? Any changes in the settings?
ADATA 4400's have problems with this MoBo. A few guys @ OCF have complained about this. Same symptoms. Somebody was talking about spurious ADATA modules @ OCF (mainly about the PCB's used) but this was in the context of a shady reseller.Quote:

I've actually RMA'ed (swap) my rams before this with a new pair from Adata taiwan themselves. Both has the same result. So I suppose this is a case of components not liking each other.Quote:

On bios 1008.3 now...maybe I'll give the 1009.7 a try.
Any suggestions? Should I rid the rams or the board?
Edit: I'm using these but as opposed to the crappy pic. The chips on these are revision E Samsung TCC5 that nobody seems to be using
http://www.adata.com.tw/en/products-d-un-ddr466.htm#
I'd get rid of the RAM.
I'm not saying ADATA is a flaky company, but sadly in this case there seems to be an incompatability. I must say that 2 or 3 people reporting problems isn't a definitive cause for panic (more data is required) it does mean that you guys were stuck with a problematic batch.
This is the thread I was referring to:

Read the posts by Joor. We tried different things (communicated by pm) but nothing worked.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help..
For reference sake.. these rams are Adata DDR466 with Samsung K4H560838E-TCC5 chips.
Edit: Any suggestions for budget rams? Would Kingston D43's do for a moderate 240htt? It's in Asus's recommended list?
is there any way you can get rev 1.02 to work with winchester and still have pci lock?
I know clawhammer can be used with 1005.002 with PCI lock.
But what about winchesters?
msi neo2 or one of the new nf4 boards that are showing up.Quote:
Any solutions for winchester users?
I am about to drop this on the road below my apartment.
well i would rather buy one more new rev 2.0 A8v than go for MSI K8N neo2( I have 2 A8V dlx for my 2 A64 systems. 1 is 1.02 and other is 2.0).
I have gone through MSI board with headache and its a lot more expensive in India than a8v dlx.
I was asking about solution for A8V deluxe rev1.02
funkymonkey:
Clawhammers and Newcastles work with the 1005.002 BIOS.
I don't think there is a solution to your problem. Again, you may have to run through all the BIOSes >1007.xx (betas included) to see what works. AFAIK none of the final versions work. You may get lucky with a beta. I'm curious to know what ASUS Tech support say abt this?
sotr:
I would recommend any ram with TCCD chips i.e the PQi Turbo or Corsair XMS series.
Also, GSkill 4400 guarentee 275MHz. You may also want to check this place out:-

Finally,
BH-5 would be pretty useless IMHO because you cant feed it the Volts it needs to really shine.
Good Luck!
