6800 Ultras from Newegg for $325.

well zipzoomfly lists it as a 16/6 card in the specs and I think evga does as well. So if I get it and it's broken, then I'd consider that defective.

No one has gotten one that is broken, and I havn't heard of any cards that didn't reach ultra speeds with the ultra bios (whihc I've heard of less than maybe 5 but still). Havn't heard of any of them that don't reach gt speeds with the crap le bios, so I don't see why they couldn't have sold them as gt's. I have no doubt they'd run at 350mhz, specially with a gt bios.

so this card is what then 12 or 16 pipe ?

I know a guy who bought one and any speed over the stock speeds causes lock-ups.
He ordered a new power supply just incase that was limitting him, but I don`t think so.

I haven't got any lock ups, but anything over 355 artifacts in 3dm2k3 - not really bad at all, but it still artifacts.

I got no problems with Ultra BIOS , even I got separate 2D/3D clocking ...
Mine goes to 425-430 artefact free

Zipzoomfly, formerly know as googlegear.com they posted they had issues with the google name and google. but hell i've ordered from them for 4 years under the googlegear name. What was the big deal. They ship and have just as good prices as newegg, But their CS sucks!!! good luck sending anything back!!

so say i flash my card with the ultra bios and then in one year it dies because it just died lol. 1. will they even be able to check what bios it has? 2. will they check it? and lastly, 3. if i flash it back to the original bios somehow using a pci card, will they know if it was flashed?
i really wanna push this card to the limit, like all of us except those n000bs, but im not interested in this card dying and it not being able to be returned.

So say i splurge 325 bucks or 340(from zipzoomfly) on this card, im not guaranteed 400 on the core which is ultra speeds am i correct? 400 is not that big of a deal but id like to get it somewhere close to ultra speeds if not over

when flashing to ultra bios a majority are hitting ~400 but no of course you're not guranteed :stick:

Remember guys, the eVGA Ultra comes stock at 425/1100, not the regular 400/1100. This is a change from their advertised clocks. The last 5 eVGA Ultra's I have bought for system builds all came this way, so it is not an anomaly. So, getting up to 420 should be very possible with the "failed" Ultra. Keep it cold, and I bet it will go to 440 or so. Put a 1.5V Ultra BIOS in place, 450 or so should be possible.

same here, I e-mailed them and they responded with basically 'we don't do stuff on the weekend, it will be shipped out at 7pst (an hour and a half ago, still says 'packed'). I assume they just havn't updated the information yet though. But I should get it on wensday I guess.

Your of course not guarenteed 400, but I havn't seen any that did not make it using the ultra bios. As long as I can run 400/1100 I'd be satisfied, but I'd love to get 425+ on the core. And anyone think it'd be possible to take the memory up to 1400mhz? How much would ramsinks help you think? Saw someone with their memory up there and I gotta get mine there now :banana4:

GL getting it from Newegg since they're sold out. I'm sure they could care less whether you cancel the order or not. Just offering another point of view for ya..I mean they got people lining up to buy the card.

Anyway, I placed my order on Sat. and it shipped Monday. :thumbsup:

ran mine flawlessly at 445/1199 in 3d03 with the gt 1.4v bios.
yes, you do need to flash to get a decent overclock. mine was stuck at about 355/1100 before the flash.

going to replace the stock TIMs and try the 1.5v bios today :)

just saying how rediculous it is for how long it takes to process. theyre either A. extremely ineffiecent or B. understaffed

newegg is very effiecent...they have every single thing down to a tee, and they have plenty of staff, AND their prices are cheaper...the owner of newegg is clearly very smart and knows how to run a business well... were as the owner of zipzoomfly is just....average

i should have ordered 1 at egg when it was 325$ :(

i ordered mine sunday from zzf and it's packed today. should go out fedex 2 day tomorrow. that's nothing to complain about, they can't all be as good as newegg.

understandable. Newegg is pretty impressive. I bet ZZF is probably a bit understaffed. They do beat Newegg on pricing from time to time so I always give them a look. I've ordered from them before multiple times and never had a problem + reasonable shipping time. ex. I just looked at 3500+ & FX-55 & ZZF has both for less than Newegg...just thought I'd point that out..not knocking either place.

Back on subject, look forward to receiving the card and voiding warranty almost immediatly!

I would flash the LE with an Ultra BIOS instead of the GT BIOS. The memory timings are a bit tighter in the Ultra with 1.6 ns versus the GT 2.0 ns. Also, there is no throttle voltage on the GT BIOS, so as it approaches thermal limits or clock limits, it will lock up. But, clock for clock the GT BIOS is better because it does not use this extra setting. So, I have flashed a number of GT and Ultra cards with each of the BIOS levels, and I have found the edited Ultra BIOS with 1.1/1.4/1.4 as the voltages is the best for clocking the Ultra cards, and the LE is an Ultra. Now, if it passes 450/1200 performance regularly, and it keeps cool (under 50C idle), I would look at the Ultra Extreme 1.5V BIOS. Here is a link to a UE based BIOS edit using 1.1/1.5/1.5. It is the one I use on my card to get 510/1320.
