I really don't feel bad. :) Priming at 2.6Ghz at the moment. Just pulled 35s in SuperPi 1M a few moments ago and this is with RAM not even at 1:1 (5/6 RAM divider = 166MHz RAM didvider). :eek:
I got RAM that is capable of doing these 260Mhz 1:1 with 2-2-2-6 (BH-6), so I'm really keen on seeing how it'll perform 1:1. :toast:
Pehaps I'll even bake this little chip with 1.85V (cooling will be enough for sure; got some mad air cooling going ATM; additionally working on making it even better) and try 2.7Ghz soon. Who knows. 270x10 1:1 with 2-2-2-6 timings would be even better. :D

Nice, keep pushing the limits. I'd be a little weary of running >1.7v on a Winnie even with the best cooling, although I don't think they've been out long enough for people to really have figured out the highest safe Vcore. All the places I've visited though suggest you keep it below 1.7v, though.

I'll just risk it, as the price wasn't too high. If this was a 700$ FX55 or something like that, I think I'd keep it below 1.7V. But with this 120$ chip, the risk is bareable.

Sorry guys, but I just have to ressurrect this old thread. :D Today I got my third Oakville. :banana:
Sold the first one and got two new ones which do quite well. Couldn't test them out fully yet (I'm just too busy ATM), but doing memtest at 2.7GHz is not bad, as it shows that it will perhaps do that stable with more vcore or so on.
BUT, the best thing about those CPUs is:
I bought both on eBay as defective, because noone could get them to run properly. In my DFI they work like a charm. AND because noone could get them to work and they sold them as broken, I only paid about 50$ for each chip! This is the best deal in a long time! The timing is also perfect. My Socket-A XP-M CPU just died last week and I was looking for a replacement. Now all I have to do is get a decent S754 Board and clock this thing. And from the money I get for the Socket-A Board (DFI LanParty NFII Ultra B) I nearly got a whole new S754 Board and CPU then. YEAH! These are the moments when I love eBay (although I hate it pretty often :) ).
I'm happy with my Oakvilles. Hope you enjoy yours, too. Or are you already out there looking for a Newark? :D

What's the difference between these Oakvilles and the new Turion CPU's, or is Turion the brand name and the product name still Mobile A64?

oakville is roughly equivilent to a winchester, or revD core
Turion (lancaster) is based on revE, but with slower, cooler running transistors t reduce power draw considerably.

Oakville was never widely circulated in the U.S. It is tough to find it here. The 2800+ is the only version I found here. I am doing 2400mhz @1.475v which is not bad for $120.

May be I will sell the Oakville and my spare 3200+ Newcastle and get a Newark instead.

on the sempron 754 it says after q3 2005 that a64 will be enabled on all semprons wtf my manufacture date is 0502 isn't that after quarter 3????? i know i ain't got a64 on mine

Q3 is about months 6 through 9 I believe. :)

ummmmm depends if the cpu has coldbug, ask ozzi i think he hit 2600 with his....not too sure though

Thorry Turion didn't OC to well on air. Myself and tristancarton were only able to get ~2.6GHz on air, no matter what voltage was used (tristan went up to 1.65v I think, I tried to keep it at 1.6v or less).

But hey, if anybody wants to try Turion under phase, I'm selling my MT-34. Just thought I'd throw my shamless plug out there. ;)

But the big diff is that you probably paid ~$100 on that Sempron, while I blew $300 on Turion64 in hopes of high overclocks. ;)
