Wow, talk about a coincidence. Whats the max you have got that chip to? Cause I just opened my package and I got a 0416RPMW also.Quote:

It was clearing the CMOS that did the trick.
For having a stable Vcore you'll have to flash to 5-14 and clear cmos
Sooo 5.14 it is?? thats the best bios till now??
im getting very strange temp reading with this board! about 35idle and 50+ Load...
My proc is doing about 2500 Mhz. Testing I did with prime on and then the corevoltages goes from 1.6V to 1.7V :( (measured with multimeter), So I'm exactly sure how it performs.Quote:

I've seen shots from Gamer. He has a 0417RMPW which does 2900 Mhz pifast I believe. I'll have to sand the chipset today or tomorrow (major bad contact now) and the this baby is going to get prommy-ed :D
Doesnt sound too promising, i'm about to put mine in. Must be those RPMWs I have 2 RPMWs, nc and ch they are poor performers.Quote:

Well my CPU needed 0.1 more voltage to do about the same it did on another board so maybe you need to take a reading from the board and see what the real voltage is.. Maybe its really not 1.7v.
if u guys hadnt seen, someone in the 8KDA3+ mods thread in the mobo mods forum got a 3200+ mobile (not DTR) to work in his 8KDA3+!!!!
This seems like an interesting board, may have to pick one up to go with my 2800+
i bought 2x512MB of ocz pc3700eb, before that i had kingston pc3700 (1x512). with the two dimms my cpu voltage has drop compared with the voltage i had with only 1 dimm of memory.
in fact my voltages sucks a lot.
v-dimm 2,768v (2,8 in bios)
cpu +-1,600v with USDM and +-1,637 on cpuz (1,7 in bios) :(
update: in the bios the voltage readings of the cpu are about 1,65v (stable). how do i know wich ones are correct
Smokey, the starter of that thread, is doing very well with this board. He's currently holding the nr1 pifast position in the netherlands with this board, but that won't last long anymore....Quote:

I've sanded my chipset today for better contact and put sinks and fans everywhere the fets got hot and put my prommy on my new cpu.
Prime crashes at 2806 Mhz...
Linky ? :)Quote:

With the 5-14 bios I'm still having some Vcore issues. This is in combination with the mods.
As said before, I haven't touched my pots since I've got a new proc. The mod was set to overvolt 0.05V. At 1.55 in the bios I'm getting about 1.6 Idle which gets upto 1.7V under load.
When I set the Vcore to 1.60 in the bios I was getting 1.68 in windows idle and 1.83V under load. Voltage seemed to fluctuate also more then when I set it to 1.55, and the fluctuations were higher. Under load that is....
All voltage values measured with the UDSM tool.
So I'm a bit worried that this could be a new cpu killer. Probally it's best te keep Vcore to default in the bios and only use the mods, but I'll have to do some more testing on this....

There is a new bios out from EPOX.
You can down it from you MAGIC BIOS in windows.
KDA34716.BIN (07/16)
BIOS FILE DATE:
07/16/2004
BIOS Part No:
6A61CPAA
Boot Title:
07/16/2004 For nForce3 250GB Chipset
BIOS Checksum:
5700 (h)
Workaround :
1.Patch USB 2.0 storage hangs at Post when enable USB KB/storage support.
2.Support MAC address fast flash ROM¡]PMC PM49FL004T / SST 49LF004B¡^.
3.Show correct information at summary for SATA HDD.
4.Solve working failure issue of ACPI shutdown temperature.
Hope this will fix all bugs :)
try it now.

Thank you for posting your finding....
I had a problem with my ps2 keyboard port not working, needless to say the board is out on rma, hopefully there are good things to come from this bios good luck all!
*(crossing fingers)
Cool. Just updated the first post with this additional BIOS...

Any news on the Vcore bug with the latest bios yet ??
my findings:
This bios is the best so far.
But still the low voltage issue is there... there is a solution and its very simple.
If you set 1.50v (you want stock) then the Vcore drops to 1.4v and thats to low, effect = System fail.
But if you set standard 1.6v in the bios, the vcore will drop to 1.52v.
Problem solved.
People with a voltmodded board can continue with the pots.
heh the 5-14 bios atleast over volts for me by 0.05. I dont need anymore then 1.75v.
Can anyone overclock higher with the new bios? Get any mults lower then 8 to work?
the new bios works fine i thought yesterday.
I use the 07/16 bios.
When i set 1.6V in the bios, the voltage rise to 1.72v. ..thats oke.
But when i coldboot it reach a bizar 1.9v!! :(
Going to the bios and press F10 will change the Vcore to the "normal" 1.72v.
Why EPOX why!!!
Anyways...
I can run prime95 for over a hour and 8M superPI but sometimes when i do something else it crapt out, BSOD (IRQ_not less bla bla)
Damnz, i dont follow it anymore.
I think it has to do with the Memory voltages or something, maybe a bios bug or a mobo issue.
What are your experience? have someone the same probs i have??
thnx
I get a BSOD with that message all the time. If you figure it out, let me know.Quote:

Wow, 7/16 BIOS ROCKS, I no longer have the undervolt bug! At least my Vcore stays at a range of v1.520-v1.600 when I set @ v1.550 in BIOS. woohoo.
Its the board dude... nothing to do about it.Quote:

Hopefully a bios issue, but have no faith in it anymore.
Can you explain this? 4 hours prime95, and then BSOD...i can not...
