nice macci,
I have a new D1 Prescott to put under the cascade this weekend.
Whats the stock speed on that one? And whats the code?
Q34ES
I pop up a cpuid air OC in a bit
is this the 2.4A? and is it readily available? i want :slobber:Quote:

I decied to torture myself some with a IC7 Max3 testing my new prescott.
I cant get the multiples to work on this mobo and I am stuck at 14x... I am doing air so I should get a decent FSB going
Here it is at stock in a IC7 Max3

more info :)
Overclock is what we whant.....
Im getting one, is there a week that is very good?
Fugger, that looks to be rather similar to the 3.2ES Sampsa of Muropaketti.com had. He got it up to 3850MHz/1.424V aircooled for a Superpi 1m run and up to 4644MHz/1.536V R404 cooled.

How do you know its 'D1 stepping'? Correct me if i'm wrong but the current stepping is 'C0' and the new one should be 'D0'?
CPU-Z should read the stepping as '4' not '3' if it was the new version.
youre totally right macci.....
I see now that it is a stepping 3 C0
I was mistaken, thinking this 3.2e was the newer core.
I forgot to take a pic of the bottom as well as confirm the Qx34ES
will do on swap out.
heres new stepping?
...
It still says stepping 3 though. This was from tomshardware *cough*
Anyone else been using one of these on a phase change system? I am curious cuz my new 3.0C is not doing as well as I would like.
how high do your 3ghz go? I have ordered a 2.4A and it should be here in a couple of days.Quote:

how is the 2.4A in 3d? is it useless?
2.4A is fun not absolute useless but fun for the price ^^
18x multi is rather optimal for 1:1 action in 3D :)
it will most likely outperform NW in 3dmark lobbys but might loose a bit on car hi. overall should be a bit faster than your 2.4C (depending on how high the 2.4A clocks).
macci what is your highest 3dmark01 / 03 score with the 2.4A sofar?
I hope the cpu can manage 4.3 in 3d with my modded mach II..
with my 2.4C i run 3:2.. but I have an amazing FSB.
btw: macci to manage super pi @ 4209mhz with my 2.4C I had to disconnect the heat element on my prom.. do you use it?
oh yeah!
Overklokk in our 3DMark team managed to take 30k!

It seems those early reports of Prescotts problems with the bus speed, may be correct...
Not entirely sure but they were saying the bus speeds were causing them problems, and not necessarily their 90nm process.
Obviously these lower FSB 2.4A's are overclocking machines so SOMETHING has to be working right. It only makes sense to me...
