Requesting tasks for ATI ==> No tasks are available for Help Conquer Cancer
Last task in cache due 2/5/13 04:00:25 AM local time, ie 1 May 2013 18:00:25 UTC.
It would have been fetched 24 Apr 18:00 UTC, about 10 hours ago.
I bumped up the work cache a few days ago so no longer qualify as a "fast returner" & won't get resends.
Oh, well:
C:\BOINC_Data\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org> dir x*.zipso they'll still be crunching for about 5 days.
... says ...
6384 File(s) 647,979,278 bytes
BTW, working with such a long cache seems to really slow down the BOINC daemon. It takes ages to suspend/resume all tasks when adjusting the startup offsets of the running tasks. In task manager, boinc.exe is currently showing 19h14m CPU time used! Mind you, it's been running continuously for many weeks :)
Not sure what to do with the graphics card either. It's host Q9650 will be retired, as I just put a new 3770K on line. Bitcoin?
[Edit:]HCC GPU tasks are flowing again ... Might be one of your last chances to greedily grab some extras. But maybe not  [/Edit]
"No tasks available" starting to pop up occasionally in the event log, and when it does download tasks they are mostly resends due within the next couple days, putting off the regular ones that are due 5/1. Hm. This looks like the end :(
remember to abort non gpu tasks so they don't start running on high priority and ruin your productivity :S

Huh, POEM is actually pretty good - any idea on how efficiently it runs on ATI?
And start a team! XS is very supportive of new start ups, especially with medical related projects.
My biggest problem with F@H is (last time I checked) it didn't use ATI efficiently. It was much better to use an NVIDIA GPU... have they fixed that?
(IMO BOINC is also preferable, but that's a minor issue)
Yeah, I know I gotta fix it... just don't remember the place and haven't cared enough to dig around for it. Asked SNURK, should be fixed shortly.
Actually, I'm going to start another thread on this specifically.
Thanks guys! (And nice to meet y'all two!)
I'm not sure on F@H, I haven't played with that on my GPU for a long time. I kinda feel bad about it, since that was my very first project and all :(
I tried running it on my GTS250 on my work PC, but it totally made that PC unusable while it was running.
*edit* I guess they found some more new work as I just got a whole bunch of _0 and _1 units all of a sudden.
F@H has a open_cl core for both gpus, and AMD cards are used effectively. Only thing left for f@h is gpu on Linux support.
I'm not sure what to do after hcc either. Athlon machine is getting disbanded. 7770 might get a temp home in a 8c pd machine until its intended use makes it homeless again.
What I can't find is a Project that can use the ATI GPU as effectively as the WCG Hcc1 did.
I can run the Hcc1 task on a 0.2C + 0.2ATI configuration. So far, all the GPU taskers I've look at require a 0.2C + 1.0ATI configuration.
I have some WUs ending in _2 and _3.
XS actually has a team, but only one guy, Lionheart, has contributed in the past month. There are a couple of XS'ers on the team that have been active in WCG, including pirogue, one shot, snow crash, and vitchilo.
Supposedly AMD cards of 5000 series or above work on Folding@Home. I don't know how well AMD cards work vs. NVIDIA. There are claims that NVIDIA cards work better on the Folding projects.

305484 is the number you need. It's magic!
Well I worked on POEM for a while but I switched to HCC... Will go back to POEM once HCC is finished.Quote:

My PPD average has been climbing recently, are these resends worth more or something?
I'm still getting new WUs and some resends. Some tasks end in 0 and others in 1 and 2.
_0 and _1 are new tasks, _2 and higher are resent or additional verification requests.
When you click on the task in the WCG results web interface, it shows task creation time. So it seems there are still new tasks being generated...
I tried to sign up with POEM, but they don't have or do ATI tasks. They also don't show the projects the way other BOINC-based Accounts do.
Can anyone tell me what is happening here?
Thanks

I have downloaded a few tasks with a
app_config.xml entry.
It is a start. Funny, I had to click on the CPU option to get the ATI downloads. Go figure?
