I read something about a 460 but priced at $300 . That's the only other derivative that I've read mentioned so far. I'm not sure that's true though. To bad we aren't seeing any price competition.

Geforce 460 is for the midrange, priced at the same cost as a 5850. Dont know the specs yet.
F$(#* YOU NVIDIA
Because of you we haven't had price drops in over 6 months
well that was straight to the point.....
I know how he feels, 6 months is really a long time for video cards to stay above MSRP. Consolation for me being my upgrade plan is mobo/proc/ram 1st and video card a little later.
my sources at scan tell me they will have 35 pieces of the 470 asus model alone and 10 of the 480 asus parts on monday, with more from Giga and gainward later in the week. the same kind of number for each brand.
only model not showing up is the MSI flavour of the 480 qand 470, for reasons unknown
i cant waittill tommorow yippee
Topic = Noooooooooooooo???!!!?!?! :D
New toy(s) = more fun:D
In 3 months there will be another thread like this with different "maid of honor" from the same old TSMC
Zotac on Monday - 9 cards
But this is changing very quickly, so very well they might have more cards by next day.
Asus due in 3-4 days - 8 cards (from Friday = Tuesday/Wednesday)
No ETA for remaining two.
As you said one thing worth remembering is that usually more cards at launch can be found at Enthusiasts shops like Overclockers.
Local store "High grade/expensive" has total Zotac 480 "8" and GTX 470 "10", they have no other brand.
Per AIB or not, if what was posted on the stock coming to a few of the larger venders are true, there will be more then 200+ ASUS GTX 470/480 allocated for the first week to the UK alone.
Next thing someone's gonna tell me is that the 100 is only for GTX-480...
Muropaketti has confirmed from one AIB that its initial share si ~100 cards globally. Ofc big AIBs get lot more.
100 cards per AIB for Europe makes what, 500 cards total? Even you're talking only about EU member states there are 27 states and it makes less than 20 GTX 470 + GTX 480 cards COMBINED. How many of you guys think this is likely?
Its not likely because larger AIBs get more than 100, but the report claims that just two AIBs are getting 100 each, which might just be two small AIBs.
It didnt say every AIB, nor were those numbers in anyway representative of the total number of different branded GTX 480s that will be available on launch.
The thing to remember is that smaller AIBs ALWAYS get the shaft close to launch. Taking their numbers and assuming all partners will be in the same situation is nuts IMO.
From reports it seems like EVGA in particular shipped out a good number of parts LAST WEEK with more coming available on Monday.
No it isnt:
I dont think that these figures are inaccurate, they seem believable to me.Quote:
Short story, the cards, both combined, worldwide, for all launch partners is less than 8,000 units in the first week..... Two major AIBs have allocated less than 100 cards each for Europe
Who said anything about 1600 total?
Edit: Nevermind, it looks like bhavv cleared it up.
well its the 12 of April its out of stuck every where i look...
My eVGA GTX470 from newegg is "out for delivery" via UPS today... waiting for that knock from the UPS guy :D!
