That is only one piece of Arrow, and as we all know very well, TR base finish can be very much different from one piece to the other. God know TRUE had problems like this over and over again. However, the interesting part is how the Arrow will perform on i7, lapped and full package. Judging from Ramiro's latest IFX-14 experiences, that might be something very interesting ;)
The Noctua versus IFX article will be coming out in a few days. Expect something unusually thorough. :)

Good for you son. I hope you have the same luck when buying an i7, ie you get one that doesn't go beyond 70 degrees with any crappy cooler on top at 1.45v.

I can't trust this review since they only mounted each heatsink once. There's a lot of variance in temps with different mounts. Look at this chart, and this was done by the very experienced Vapor:

Granted that's for ICD7 and they used MX2 in their testing. I chose this chart since it shows very clearly just how much mounting can change temps.
You might have a point, but it still reflects what 99% of what the users do. Assuming all coolers were given equal opportunity, I would assume after several remounts it would still produce the same ranking.

Where you might have more of a point is with ambient temps. Those screw with results more than anything, especially air coolers.

You seem like a nice guy so I'm gonna give you some tips: whenever you see a test where the stock intel cooler doesn't have a FAIL next to it you can bet your house and car they are not pushing it hard enough. Secondly you ought to ask yourself: why would I buy a cooler costing over 50 bucks since there are similarly performing products way cheaper. The whole idea behind buying a high end product is to go beyond regular and stock.

I saw almost all the noctua reviews, only 3 pitted it against the titan.

If you want the ultimate proof buy the Fenrir and test it yourself, but the only way you'll see relevant differences is if you test them on an i7 with 1.4v+. Big coolers like the Noctua and IFX-14 love high TDP cpus.

That sounds hard to believe.. a difference of 2°C between ambient temps and idle temps? That's ridiculous! If I had a delta like that in my watercooling setup I'd be more than happy.

Theres a 5 degree difference between the hottest and the coldest core in idle which is plausible. And the load results are also fair since the Noctua can do this fanless:

then decrease 10c from the screenie , its 77 77 76 76 c per core .
