How is it better? In what ways? We've seen his score and know he's using it, but that's about it. Do you know the specific advantages of Win2003? I would need to know before thinking of switching my OS. Thanks :D

I tried Win2k3 after seeing some people here using it....I could not get it working properly...

My max overclocks were not attainable in Win2k3 but were fine in WinXP. My settings just were not as stable. I was also forced to use DX9 for 3DMark2001SE as the supplied 8.1 would not work even when fully enabled. Games worked fine with it but 3DMark would not run.

I switched back to XP Pro.

Thats equal to my 3.2C at 3984MHz (RAM 1:1 TURBO settings on P4C800).

Hell no I cant thats what makes me wonder if its a EE CPU (I need higher FSB/RAM and over 300MHz extra CPU to get that 34sec..Win2003 can't be THAT much faster can it??) :D

why wcpuid show stepping ID 5? it' s not 9 ?

I tried and hated win2k3 and it sux for gaming imho. Also im really annoyed withthe systrm asking for my reason to shutdown/restart

Note on those SL6Z3 (derivitave of the 3.20EE) CPUs.......its also 5....on "normal" P4's its 9. :p:

I can get a 36-37s at 3650MHz with my 2.4c (12*304) and ram in 5:4 (2-5-2-2) :mad:

OS : WIN2K3 or XP it's the same score ÆæÅý

I got 32sec for Pifast at 4ghz iirc

Creative, can you please put a WCPUID screen? that 3.2 (not 3, the multi is 16) doesn't say EE, and since you have an EE you can solve all oh this :D
Well, unless if the bios doesn't support EE chip the other 2 L3 cache will still be activated, than it dosn't metter \:

Oh, and macci, any chances youl get the SiS755? has PCI and AGP locked and it get's great scores at 3dmark 01 and 03. i still don't know how it OCs though \:

CPU-Z will say Gallatin core, stepping ID 5 and M0 revision, its easy to tell, I would use that instead. It also clearly shows "Extreme Edition" and the logo.

In the WCPUID the SetFSB program is covering the cache so it looks like a normal 3.20.

With cpuid I get the same thing, no EE branding after the cpu name :)

It is stepping 5 though like Macci said is to be EE so I rekon that is how u can tell it is one :thubsup:
