Well

fellow AN-7everites, The Omelet is finally sold out!
Next shipment date, the 23rd.

We should see some results today!!!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH
from some of our buddies that ordered from places on Monday.

I have a feeling we'll need good DDR500 for this board.
Yes, the same ram for Intel systems that sucks for AMD.

Why? Cause this board might be able to do a FSB of 250 and better at 1:1. I don't think even with 3.20v Vdimm, stuff like KHX3500 will do 250 or better.

I have 2 x 256mb sticks of A-Data PC4000 just in case plus my 8 sticks of BH5 :slobber:

Remember that OPP maxed his v2.0 at 250 with HyperX PC3500 BH-5's so it's possible with good cooling.
I don't expect to reach 250 using an SLK-900 but I'll be happy with 230 or so... ;)

I got mine ordered from NewEgg.

I hit the site early last night and it was listed as out of stock ETA 11-23-03 so I did the auto-notify thing... and for some reason I felt I needed to back and LQQK.. and SURPRISE its in...and ORDERED!

But I want uber stable. I don't know how stable his ramma lamma
ding dong was at 250 1:1 though.

I want to be able to run the system for every day use.
But I'm jumping the gun here. I'd be pretty happy at 250 1:1

I don't know why in the world they couldn't really make this board shine by replaing the Vdd IC so they could offer at least 1.80-1.85 Vdd without the needs for mods.

This what I don't get. Abit knows we are using high Vdd's {though Many claim for really high OC's use LESS Vdd}

Why didn't they offer a Vdd up to 1.85? They know we want it.
The only reason I can think of is they feel that most people won't replace the NB cooling with something better and the board would burn up or freeze up all the time.

BUT, they could have put a great sink on the NB already.
I mean damn, we'd be willing to pay an extra $20 on the board for all that.

How come they don't listen to what we really, really want??

I was going to kick myself in the ass for of course when I dont check the major vendors I miss out.

Excaliberpc has them in stock. I'm on the bandwagon. Hesitating on the order button only because I'm not sure if it's worth the extra 10 for S&H on top of $5 for 2 day delivery.

Edit: Got the two day. When I accidentally added 2 to my cart I got the 3 red stars of doom that meant it wasnt in. Set it back to 1 and they went away. Guess I got the last one. :DvTook my like 10 minutes to order the stupid thing so I hope there system stays accurate while I was having early morning struggles. Results probably saturday.

See the edit. They definitely had one and not two. I should be getting it. Im paranoid cuz it took me a while to get the order in. But thats just me.... I'm getting it. I certainly order the right thing but will surely be anxiously awaiting a tracking number or something.

You're right though, can't even search for an7 after my order.

Sorry if I cause any unnecessary excitement for someone looking for the board. They got them and sold out again almost under our noses.

Ok, ok, what's the hub bub, bub? Well?? Who's got one?? C'mon start talkin! :D I might be getting a P4 board and mobo, but my back up is still AMD. i wanna know if it's worth the swap from my NF7-s 2.0 to the AN7.

I wanna know ups, downs and all arounds ;)

Hey clockedOut, see if you can get your hands on some BH-5's. I'm sure it'll smoke with it.

clocked out... I'd still be looking for quality PC3500 @ tight timings for this board. Mushkin Black, HyperX. The OCZ stuff with the BH-5.

Nebulous- I'm coming from a 1.2. I wouldnt care too much if I had a 2.0 but since I don't, I'll be sure to get a new batch SPP and MCP-T with the AN7. The higher vdim, and guru is icing on the cake. More precise vdd increments, though still a low 1.75 max, hell it's still higher. Plus smaller increments are sweet post vdd mod - Don't have to fiddle with the VR every time you want a little change. All in all though, not much over a vdim modded v2.0.

Well, you won't be seeing mine soon. Excaliber guy (Andy) called said it was like $10 more, on top of the extra I was already paying for two day, for saturday deliveries. I thought that was only UPS but oh well. My mistake. I'll just go back to $5 regular shipping... or so I thought. This apparently was not understandable. Guy couldnt understand. After trying to explain it a couple of times then......

him - I have another call have to go...

me - well can I get the $5 shipping?...
him - we'll just leave it like it is. thats ok. Be there monday.

me- Thats not really ok for me. I dont want 2 day shipping anymore.

After a few calls I worked it out but I will try and avoid the place. We have to start using our money as our stamp of approval. This just made me think about all those jobs leaving the states. So many tech support places etc. are filled with this BS. If the guy on the other end can't understand... "well if I can't have it on saturday without paying another $10, can I switch to regular shipping?"... vote with your dollar and dont deal with them in anymore. Of course, they'll do it somewhere else with a lower standard of living for cheaper. Take a stand. It was so irritating to hear him continually tell me "it's ok - leave it like it is - but no saturday"... um no it's not ok. If a thick accent presents itself as a barrier for communication, I'm patient and will ask for a repeat. But to be told a situation like mine in unaccented english, and numerous times, then follow with "I'm confused" is unacceptable.[/rant]

Anyways I probably should not say this as more xs'ers will go there... but you can now add up to 10 in the cart without the red stars of doom. At least you had to read my rant first.

I had problems in the past with Excalibur. If i'm gonna buy a board , I'll go to newegg. if they're out I'll wait until they get a new shipment. I would'nt buy so much as a screw from them after what i went thru. i know other ppl had great success, me i did'nt. I only do buisness with newegg and newegg only. i have bought from googlegear/zipzoomfly whatever the new name is. not a problem either.

1) Newegg
2) googlegear

That's it.
