It could and would do 4.6ghz but not for other than bench, for 24/7 4.3-4.4 is more probable i think

The thing that impress me is the temperatures... and it's not even 32nm. Wow.
Many of the big names on this forum have mentioned D0 will bring a considerable temp drop and increase in overclock headroom. Plus, one of Intel's guys basically confirmed such when he said it's a different game now because AMD has turned up the heat.
That's reason enough for me to believe that D0 will be at least a 7/10 on the satisfaction scale.

lol okay, so the op shows coretemp and its known to be wrong and you have people saying wow look at the temps and I correct them :shrug: I will be excited when I see a retail chip. Rumor spreads like wild fire around here, just trying to squelch some of it. ES chips almost never clock like retail, and they are used like a hype machine. Good day sir.
I didnt say they never clock better, I said they never clock like retail. Getting my butt handed to me in this thread, I feel sorry for all of you getting your hopes up. Obviously I hope they clock better. Im stuck at the dreaded 222 bclk, I doubt d0 will reslove this though.
FUGGER told D0 would bring lower temps/power consumption and remember the 965 5.0GHz on air clock? Also the i7 are gonna be found in a laptop soon, with current heat/power consumption it would be totally impossible to use such CPU. Remember Q6600 was it B2 or B3 that was the hottest running and such improvement G0 brought? Intel can do very drastic improvements sometimes with a new stepping. However max bclock I don't think will change pretty much anything.
That is enough for me to believe D0 will have progressed in these factors. Max clocks I don't think will improve drasticly unless you're the person that don't have enough cooling that is, then these new D0 would allow for higher OC b4 temps are starting to hit back and prolly with slightly lower voltage than before if PC's sample is an average one, so basicly I think D0 will offer most improvement for aircooling users (maybe easier to hit stable 4.0 ~ 4.3GHz clocks on 920) while DICE/LN2 users might not see much higher results than before.
so what the difference with first stepping, +200mhz?
I'm hoping for 300-400 MHz Increase. My old i7 920 could do prime stable 21x200. and could bench at 21x210.
I'm hoping for 21x220 at least.

Starting with Core i7, Intel writes TJMax information into each processor. Intel actually calls this information TJ Target and actual TJMax can be a few degrees different from that number, typically higher. TJMax is not an exact science so reported temperatures will never be exact.
The Core i7 C0 sensors are far better than the previous 45nm Core 2 sensors. They don't seem to have much slope error and TJMax might be off by a couple of degrees but nothing major.
If you don't think that Core Temp is reading the TJMax information correctly then you could try RealTemp.

You could also use a program like MSR Tool to read the model specific register 0x1A2 bits[23:16] where Core i7 stores the TJ Target information.

My Q6600 doesn't show anything here but a C0 Core i7 should show 64 in these two digits because 64 hex = 100 decimal which is TJMax for all the early Core i7 that I have seen.
If 5C is in that location then Core Temp is right; TJ Target is 0x5C = 92.
I don't think that Intel would deliberately low ball TJ Target so software automatically reports lower temperatures.
