F5 is out and I JUST got a 720BE today! With F4 seemed to hit 3.6GHz with a Zalman 9500 (temps stayed mid 40's) but the more I messed around with settings, the more often it started crashing... So staying with 3.5GHz for now. Maye I should try raising tyhe FSB instead of multiplier? Well, trying F5 now, so we will see!
I was running my 920 at 3.5Ghz 24/7 also but I had to back off when I changed to Windows 7 recently to 3.45Ghz as it seems to bring up some instability which I think is coming from my soundcard drivers.
I get BSOD's from my Audigy 2 at high FSB even when the CPU and ram is stable at those speeds.
I will test out the new bios later thanks for the post.
F5 solved the problem where my system freezed after resuming from S3, it has been an issue with all releases.
Well, been away fro mthe computer a lot recently so my experience so far is that F5 POSTS "WAY" faster than previous versions for my particular setup... Running 15x240 for 36.GHz, AOD stability tests crashes after 15 seconds but P95 goes a full 24 hrs. Hmmm... Running a fresh install of Win 7 x64 build 7229... I need to gets some real world apps on it and see how stable it really is.
So an update and call to other users of this board overclocking the X3 720BE... So far my best luck is at 16.5x X 220HTT for 3.63GHz stable running AOD stability test now too.
Any other thoughts on voltages and max temps to aim for? Right now I am running 1.45v on good air cooling, very max temps around 50c...
What about HTT clock? Seems my board doesn't like to do above 2200HTL. I am able to run my RAM at DDR2 880@4-4-4-12 , 2.2v using 4 sticks, 2 kits different brands: One OCZ and one G.Skill, with very similar ratings for voltage (2.0-2.1) and timings (4-4-4-12, 4-4-4-15) so all is good at 2.2v I think...
What about motherboard and chipset voltages, anyone recommend max's to shoot for and if there is any benefit like better HTT speeds stable?

I installed F6 yesterday. it does unlock my 810's cache to larger size just like before. i did not notice any changes.

I haven't been updating the first post after my DS4H fried its PWM section... I RMA'd it and while it was EOL'd by the importer, I got UD4H for replace. :up:
What I've heard about F6, there has not been very good comments about it.
can someone tell me how to update the backup bios? my main bios is F5 and my backup is still F1, im worried that if the backup kicks in when things go wrong that it wont boot or something since my Phenom 965 is only supported from F5 onwards, i haven't found an option to do this in Qflash but i remember most Gigabyte boards ive had in the past allows me to do this (flash backup bios from the main bios so both are up to date)
It automatically updated the backup BIOS for me after I installed F6 on the first post. It is the first time I have seen it do this though. I don't know how to manually force it to backup.Quote:

Changing back from 1066 to 800 has also shutdown the motherboard on save and it won't restart now. The motherboard is acting dead and a CMOS clear isn't helping so I have removed the CMOS battery for now. This isn't a RAM problem as the RAM is stable at 800 or 1066 no problem on all the other BIOS versions and this version when it will boot :).
I am using an AMD 965 c3 CPU which might be the cause of the behavour as its not officially supported in the F6 BIOS but other c3 CPU's are. It did detect the CPUID properly though.
Edit - Replacing the motherboard battery fixed the problem. Maybe some conflicts appeared after the flash.
Does any one have tried the F7B bios ?
yea u get a few more options like setting it to 8-bit or 16-bit...
otherwise nothing is new for me at least .. no improvement in OC
