Where's the obligatory n00b post "OMG where can I buy that block"?
You guys are awesome. I can't even design kitchen cabinets in sketchup :)
Just playing with this render. Tried some different colours and angles, made some minor improvements. Created my own texture for the knurled effect on the last one. I think it looks better than the one I found on the web...:D

would be nice to have it not so close :) it's a bit in your face
OK, I've reduced the size of the pic for now. I'll do another render with some distance when I get time....;)

As promised, not so 'in your face'

now that looks awsome :)
Really nice Mick! I've gotta try Kerkythea.
That's one of my favorite BP fittings. I love the sweeping smooth surface and the performance loss is negligible.
Case Design... WIP

Great case idea. It's like a TJ07 but with a top radiator section.
Very nice fittings rendering too.
That is like the perfect case, build me one ill buy it ;)
Just a practice block (been a while)

Depending on how wide it is you could probably make both rads 480s, in my Lian Li PC-V2010 I have a TFC 480 with 25mm fans in the bottom compartment and it fits nicely, however I do have it on exhaust, people freaked about blowing air from the rad to the PSU but tbh by ZM-1000HP doesn't run hot at all, PSU is cold to tepid to the touch and the air it expulses is barely warm too, probably to do with the fact I'm not stressing it much though.
Got caught up in school work and still need to find a good way to export the model into something I can render it easily in.
Acrylic shrouds anyone?

30mm optimal rite? Do you render first by making a wireframe model and exporting it to a renderer? What do you do after that? select settings?

nice!
I first designed the shroud in Adobe Illustrator and exported the paths as a DXF and imported it into Google Sketchup. After extruding the path, I exported the model into Kerkythea (using the SU2KT plugin) and applied materials (available on the Kerkythea website), an HDR lighting environment, and rendered with the Metropolis Light Transport setting.
