You've brought scratch builds to a new level. Gone away from the cube case stereotype we see around which is completely fine, however seeing something different is very good. It proves that people produce new ideas and that the world can move on.

Wow you're doing a great job on this case, it looks damn good. I can't believe you built this from scratch, I guess some people are just that talented.
First let me say amazing.
The switches/lcds.. does that go on top of the case?
Also, you said you painted the cover black? but it looks like brushed anodized black.
Can you give me the info to what you did (steps, brand of paint, etc) That to me was the most shocking part.

Hehe thanks. Yeah the cover / bezel was painted with "regular" spraypaint. I've used this method on a RPM guauge mounting bracket in my car and so far the paint have been holding on quite nicely actually.Quote:

Okay. This'll be a small update but It's about those small things that makes a big difference. Had to figure something out for my harddrives so I built a suspension out of two Scythe Himuro HDD-coolers.
Mock up. The raptor is going to go on the top because of its tendency to create a lot of vibrations. So I thought it might need some extra suspension.

Cut some holes in the mobo tray so that it'll be easier to remount the CPU block if needed. Also made a hole for the ATX+12v cables.

Um, maybe should avoid taking pics like these. I was afraid that it would come out wrong with the reflections etc. What you're seeing is panels treated for powdercoat. Still got a lot of water drops on them and the "scratches" is no way near deep. If you would hold the panels you would get a whole other opinion of them. Smooth like a babys bottom but "ruggade"-(engelska ordet?) so that the paint will stick on nicely. You'll see when I get them back from the powder coaters :)Quote:

Okay, both good and bad news today. Got almost everything painted. Some parts I had to paint myself because they needed some bondo to make them look good. The good news is that the powder coat turned out really great, the bad news, well.. you have to see it for your selves further down in this update..

Obiously they hanged it wrong and didn't take in consideration that such large areas of sheet metal will bend easily when warmed up to 250 degress... They only suspended it in a single hole on one of the sides. This is the left side on this picture and It's much worse than on the other side which was just fine.....
Oh well, the paint is awesome though. Have to think something out for the outer panel. Gotta contact the company which coated this..

That stinks that they bent the top, but worst comes to worse, you are a the one who modded it, so I'm sure it wouldn't take you too long to whip it up again and send it back to them for a free powdercoat. They did it wrong, so they should redo it free of charge.
Hopefully you can get the kinks out.
