Don't worry about me make sure that you are happy with it. That is ultimately who we build these for isn't it - ourselves? As long as you are happy with it I am sure it will be fantastic. Especially going by the pics you just posted above of the V2000 build.:up:

The rest of this worklog will be primarily dedicated to the TJ07 build. I hope you like what you see. Feel free to offer suggestions and ask questions, I'm always open for feedback.

Today I removed the stock heatpipe assembly on my Maximus II Formula. I changed the thermal paste to Arctic Ceramic. I also changed the Republic of Gamers logo around since this will be an inverted ATX oriented motherboard. The Maximus II Formula logo was also able to be switched around, but I may just remove that all together, we'll see.

Original northbridge cooler removed. Pretty poor thermal paste contact.

Heatpipe Assembly removed.

I also removed the red fancy shields that were covering part of the mosfet heatsinks. Looks clean.

I wish I felt okay about using a jet imingent block in my next build... but hey each to his own, awesome log Blue :up::up::up:

(ps, I will never understand for the life of me why ASUS chose white PCI and dimm slots as opposed to black :confused:)

Hey BA...do your compression fittings fit snugly on to the NB block? I just got mine today and I put my 3/8" BP comps on it and it appears as though is doesn't sit flush against the block. I removed the stock BP O-Ring and used the bigger O-Ring that came from the included barbs. I am going to leak test later in the weak.

Again, nice pics. If my pics came out that nice I would definitely take more. :D

The compression fittings do look amazing on that block. I guess I missed the memo on the downsides of impingement blocks, although I have seen this pop up lately. Why are all but one of the top blocks all impingement then? I could have used my Aqua Computer Cuplex Evo. :yepp:

Well, the large compression fittings I have won't both fit. I think the chipset block has the same problem as the GTZ. The barb threads are recessed just a bit and I guess some have had issues with making a good seal. I'm going to have to try some stuff and perform my own tests to make sure it's right. Please let me know what you find out.

Thanks for the compliments on the pictures. That's something I'm still working on and trying to improve. I just bought a good book on Photoshop for Digital Photgraphers and it looks pretty nice. I'm going to work through the tutorials when I have spare time.

I'm sure you can still take good pictures with whatever camera you have. I've seen some pictures you've taken and I would love to see more. Please post in my thread. ;) I'd love to see what projects you're working on.

You could pick up a Canon 30D for around $600-ish (possibly lower) if you look around a bit, plus another couple hundred for a short prime lens.

Either that, or a new video card, depends on where your priorities lie :ROTF:

It took me a long time to buy a nice camera, and even then I hesitated. I had a Canon Powershot S40 for years that worked and did the job. But last fall I found a deal on a nice Canon 30d. ;) Now I just have to figure out how to use it.

Which one? The Aqua Computer Cuplex Double Impact or the Swiftech GTZ?

I think they're both good, but I haven't put the GTZ to the test yet.

Must admit this was the first GX2 i'd seen that was watercooled and had the cover modded to fit back on which i remember thinking at the time was pure genius and replicated on my two but unfortunately they prevented me from routing the hose how i'd wanted plus i couldn't quite get the cards sit nice together so didn't use them in the end :rolleyes:

Its ingenious touches like that that really get my attention :up:

Figuring out how to use a digital SLR is simple, the hard part is taking great pictures with it (and you seem to have no problems there) :D

That TIM job doesn't surprise me on the HPS, you have to do a washer mod to it as well? Looks much better without the red alu shields too!

Thanks for the kind words Coolmiester. That means a lot coming from one of the best case modders of all time. :):) I can't take credit for the 9800gx2 mod though. Another fellow from MN came up with it and was posted in his build log. I liked the idea so much I just had to do it for myself.

Thanks! I think the DSLR just takes good pictures without myself having to do a lot. There is a lot yet to learn. I think I need a good backdrop.

Thanks again. Maybe this weekend I'll put you to work and we'll really get some stuff done. It should be fun.

I did do the washer mod on the motherboard, and I think I should hopefully have decent temperatures.

Thanks to TurtleTrax I now have a new MCP655 Ek Pump top. This is equipped with a Feser 1/2" ID 3/4" OD Compression and I think I might try the BitsPower D-plug.

I think you should hold off on the top and let me test it first. ;) Second thought, it could be a while before I get flow and pressure tests ready.

Put me to work, I can sleeve for sure...we should print a picture of TurtleTrax and hang it in the room and talk at it periodically. :D

Lol, halarious :rofl: Just so busy this week after sitting on my duff from the tooth thing. All is back to normal other than catching up. I dont even have time to play with my rig :(
