lol, nice find Aerosupra. So, this P5K-E/wifi use the same PCB as the Deluxe version =D
That because it's a revison 1.00g ;) Rev. 1.01g and up have its own name :D And it officially support 45nm (said so on the blue box).

I too have the Rev.1.02G with BIOS 0702
I noticed I was missing the SpeedStep Enable/Disable option, can someone else confirm this.
ADVANCED
CPU Configuration
Intel(R) SpeedStep(TM) Tech. [ENABLE/DISABLE] <--- Missing this Option
Also what is the default voltage I need to set for my Intel Core2Duo E6750, so that I can verify the Vdroop.
Right now I have it on AUTO
CPU Voltage [Auto]
CPU Voltage Reference [Auto]
CPU Voltage Damper [Enabled]
CPU PLL Voltage [Auto]
In Hardware Monitor I see.
VCORE Voltage [1.240V]
In CPUID I see 1.240V ~ 1.248V
In PC Probe I see 1.24V ~ 1.25V
As a test I set it to 1.250V
CPU Voltage [1.2500V]
CPU Voltage Reference [Auto]
CPU Voltage Damper [Enabled]
CPU PLL Voltage [Auto]
In Hardware Monitor I see
VCORE Voltage [1.144V]
In CPUID I see 1.144V
In PC Probe I see 1.14V
A diffrence of 0.106V!
Is it true that if I want to oveclock I need to put the memory sticks in the black channels?
Anyone installed a heatsink over their mosfets? Like it's on the Deluxe version. Something like a Thermalright HR-09. You guys think that would help or is it not needed?
if you can, get two HR-09 type2 over them, I am personally going too - clocking a quad-core and they get toasty! Of course it helps!
Hi guys,
i have a problem, i flashed bios 0901 but have now often freeze and boot problems.
But i cant flash back to an older bios, not with EZ Flash and Asus Update..
Any idea? :(
Thanks
Chris
I'm also going to buy this mobo and considering an overclock on a q6600. Since I'm a n00b on c2d overclock could u guys point out the mosfets in this picture:
http://img83.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc06774zr7.jpg
I want to cool the mosfets since it seems to be important for a sucessfull overclock :)
The first ones are covered by the stock heatsink, the one directly above the CPU. The second mosfets are to the right of the CPU, they are actually surrounded by a rectangle with the letters Heatsink next to it. The Deluxe has the stock heatsink/pipe covering this area as well.
I'd say you're good with only one TR mosfet heatsink covering only those... check thermalright.com for your mobo info... they tell you which to use over there (they have 2 diff mosfet heatsinks).
If I were to remove the stock heatpipe to cool both mosfet banks with thermalright HS's then I would definately add 2 x thermalright chipset HS's as well, for good looks :)
I think I'm gonna get some of these for the ones on the right and call it a day. Low on €€

I am gettin crazy with OC a Q6600 in this board - stuck with 0901 BIOS too :( And it got unstable at 3,6 GHz ( 9x400 ) so increased the voltages ... nothing. Later I DECREASED voltages and now I am running a Q6600 at 3601MHz at 1,28V ! Dont know what to think of this, but so far Prime-stable , damn
Why are you stuck with 0901?
Probably because he can't update to an older version after flashing a newer one.
Same question from me...
Anyone know what is CPU Voltage reference, CPU PLL voltage and NB voltage reference?
Anyone know how to make PC Probe II show memory voltage, nb / sb temperature? (saw many people with screens with the program showing those). Mine only shows CPU temp, Motherboard temp, cpu vcore, fan speeds and 3.3v and such.
just flashed with 901 not happy and having epic getting back to 602 :(
Sorry the oFF:
Today, after receive the board from RMA, i start mount it...
Some pictures...and mods...

At this moment, i`m using this config:
http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/8304/cpuizqe6.png
I also change the Bios to 0602 version....
Now my ultrage and disapointing, with Asus:
I did RMA of this board, because i couldn`t reboot, and didn`t have image...
I made 80Km, to send the Board to the store...
2 weeks after i made i call and it was read, and they told me, by phone, that they didn`t sent it to Holand, because she was ok....
Finally, i went to the store.....
So, what was the problem?
We did get off, all my Mushkin memorys, and did use, a cheap, stupid module of memory in the board..
Power it, and.....magic:shocked: she reboot and give image!
On bios, i did increase the voltage of memorys, save it and turn off.
Than i put again my Mushkin, and everthing now is ok...
Moral of this history:
Tks to incompetence of Asus, we all should have a cheap, piece of trash memory, to recory from bad OC, since they use less voltage.......:shakes: :shakes:
By the way....is my revision 1.00, read to 45nn CPU`s?
did anybody find a way to get an old BIOS to flash other than using the bad-flash & recovery CD method? I dont want to go that road. It also feels retarted not being able to flash other BIOS versions ... wtg Asus
After first nice impressions with the board I am starting to hate a bit, and I hate my self for changing the BIOS from 0603, since it was shipped with the board adn gave me a stable OC
got a spare qx9650? :D
ehehehehehe......not for now...
I did jump from 0504, to 0602, this way:
Burn a CD-RW with 0602 rom version...
Went to Bios, and load it, from the CD....
I ear, that with this method, you can go back, to old version of Bios...
I hope i did help:cool:
Mordorr
Got it
Use AsusUpdate
Check in the Options the downgrade option
Update by file
and done
thanks too jVIDIA
CPU/NB Voltage References are for the GTL Ref for the CPU/NB. CPU PLL is the Phase Locked Loop voltage for setting the CPU clock. More PLL will generally raise the FSB wall but PLL is very sensitive and will degrade quickly. Intel max PLL Spec is something like 1.6v.
If you figure out how to show all the other temps let me know, my P5K-E shows just the basics.
Thanks. I'll play around with the PLL voltage and see if i can get the damn thing stable at this speed and voltage with Orthos/Prime95 for more then 2-4 hours (it reboots after few hours now). I'll post here if i figure out how to make the damn software show more temps and voltages.

Which board is better/easier to overclock, this Asus p5k-E or the MSI P35 Neo2?
Im looking to pick this board and just want to see if you would highly suggest this board. Looking also at the IP35-E. Just trying to see what to step up to. TIA
