yes it does, but given the brutal overclockability (?) of the intel competitor i don't consider this much an advantage. i use amd systems since the duron ages and the way the things are standing now, i rather buy an intel rig.
but.. i'm curious, and don't plan to upgrade right now. this thread is being quite interesting, and i don't refer to anyone especificaly on my last post, it's just i think it adds nothing usefull to flame poor amd on this thread.

Was wondering that myself, I've seen the Quad Opterons on there already, and their CPU score (per clock) is fine.

Edit- It seems they are Phenoms, under Opteron (just opteron).

I bolded an important part.

I'm hoping that once the errata is taken care of at a hardware level we'll start seeing stock chips towards 3GHz with perhaps the same kind of overclockability we are seeing out of the BE 5000+ and such (and even better would be nice of course :D). I don't expect that to happen all at once, I have a feeling it'll be a rather drawn out process, but with time I hope AMD can get there.

this is truly looking like the AXP vs. P4 days, when AXP won clock per clock, but the P4's had the o/c to outperform

let's hope K10 is to the next tweak as clawhammer was to san diego

Hey well there is also prime 1.55 ;) For some reason K10 has picked up a lot of performance in this version, matching Yorkfield c/c in it from what I can tell (not many results around)

Thats nice too know...Now if some one can get the 9500 100% @3.0Ghz on any AM2 platform that should be double the speed of 6000+ X2 @stock and would save$ over a BE...Thus it would make it a real bang for the buck chip for low end AMD 4core,:yepp:This would make switching from X2 to X4 really worth wild while not upgrading say hundreds more for AM2+,Like AMD stated it will run in AM2/AM2+ ...This i see is what will keep them Afloat ,Also it will encourage people to buy 3.0-3.2ghz when the time comes.

Kentsfield needs roughly 2.8-3ghz for doing that according to hwbot.

I agree wholeheartedly. Can't wait to set up a rig with B3 stepping 9700 and 790FX chipset board. At last, a vendor marketing a native quad core and no FSB crap. :)
