i'm hoping for 4.6ghz on water :)
Eva, strange...
Can you try 1.35V@ 4ghz?. I did SuperPi 32M and Prime95 for a complete night and it is running stable.
For some reason I'm starting to believe that eiher Asus mobos or this chips in particular like 0.05V changes.
See I tried 1.385Vcore @ 4Ghz and I had a BSOD.
Then I tried 1.3500Vcore, and strangely it's running like a champ.
Please try it.
Also found out I can run my QX9650 at stock freq. at 1.1VCORE. That is 0.15V difference from stock voltages (1.25V) And it is also running like a champ.
1.35v for 4Ghz = windows load BSOD or reboot heh
are you turning the heat up?:D
heat ???
oscar3d.. could be reason why is VID is actually lower than what I/we assumed.. i assumed VID was 1.2375v as it was same as 1.208v AUTO vcore in bios but coretemp 0.95.6 says my VID is much lower
Coretemp 0.95.4 isn't correct Coretemp 0.95.6 beta i just started to test shows closer load/idle temps to everest OSD report in screenshots heh
Coretemp 0.95.4 is about 5C under reported from Coretemp 0.95.6 beta.

Intresting enough the only program that showed my my correct VID settings has been Everest :-)
Anyway this is what it shows if I set my Yorkie on STOCK with 1.100V.
A screenshot with Maximum Load on Air 43C and it idles, 26C. COLD.

Even with the damper enabled in p5k dlx, my vcore set in bios at 1.6v = reported 1.568v in windows. I think some of these newer 9650's need north of 1.5vcore to get the mhz up there stable. They don't seem to run overly hot though.
Update:
Guys forget about 1.1V at Stock 3.00Ghz. Strangely after running Prime95 and Superpi, played Crysis for an hour, played Gears of War for 2 hours last night. Supposedly stable, I run Photoshop today , did a couple of tweaks on a picture, and my computer turned off. Then Mobo said "Overclocking Failure" (I guess undervolting failure).
I think my vdroop kick me in the balls. I'm currently testing Stock @ 1.1500 this time. See how far I can get.
I've the above fails, I think I'm going to try eva2000's numbers (1.2375V instead of 1.2500V)...
Where did you get coretemp x.xxx.6? My curent version of coretemp doesn't show VID(as you can see in the pic above)
go eva !!!
George
I think we got the same cpu hehehe
Now I'm using a DFI and the mobo is locked in a case ,the cpu cooler is an Auras CTC-868 and how i posted in your thread -> 4ghz @ 1.39v is Crysis and benching stable.

Coretemp 0.95.4 is about 5C under reported from the new beta but still great and the cooling is a crappy Auras but its winter in JP hehehe(room temp @ 17C)
nice. For stock cooling those are good idles. at freaking 4.4ghz
how is it under loads?
ahhh in feb i plan to get a penryn for my main rig, and send my q6600 off for folding dutie
George ,no reboots for me but 1 core fails after a few minutes of prime(4ghz @ 1.39v).
look what i got
Yorkfield QX9650 week 39 4ghz
1.36v

http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9...vcorepilh8.jpg
1.34v

http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/7...vcoreciwf6.jpg
1.32v
http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/7...vcorepiag4.jpg
4ghz at 1.32v the Cinebench and 3D06 will not finish but I need to try again with more voltage on NB(only 1.31v used)
nice i can't even boot into windows without 1.392v on Asus Blitz Formula/Extreme and also on Gigabyte X38-DQ6.. prime95 at 4000mhz needs 1.488v idle/1.440v load (1.50v bios set)

Here's what I was able to pull, ES though not retail. Trying to get ahold of one to compare :D
I think Oscar3D lucked out and snagged a cherry chip.
Do you guys think they're binning the chips out for the QX9770 already?
Probably are already binning judging from my QX9650 L739A644 Retail OEM
