Dfi's X38 should be here by then too...

@Victor Wang.....is there any word on when this Motherboard should become available?:)
Sounds great if DFI releases a nice OC mobo now. Even if my heart belongs to AMD, I want to try the damn conroe's lol:D
Thats because their NF4 Ultras kicked a$$, still using mine. I will be watching this board very carefully for my upcoming build, I wanna get a x38 board with q6600 and watercool for the first time. Hopefully they release it time before I lose patience and go for P5K vanilla + e6750 :D
After a little self-reflection, I would have to say that's definitely a valid point.
That being said, if it ain't broke, and you know you can expect bios/voltage options up the wazoo without seeing what the competition picked and chose (and may lack) when comparing, I don't see the error in this train of thought. The Intel DFI boards so far for C2D seem to be all in the upper echelon, if not the best. It may not be a blowout like on 939, but still they seem worth waiting for to see how they fair versus the competition. I've yet to be let down by waiting for their boards.
I am on a DFI mb now. I feel that DFI in Intel makes the best tweakers board. I do not think in Intel they have ever made the best board. There is a difference between having the most options and being the fastest overall oc'ing mb. How many wr in Intel are done on DFI? At the ORB? Isn't this what we judge the best as, the board who can bench the fastest?
The worse thing about waiting until the next chipset is almost out before releasing a board is it becomes irrlevent very quickly. Look at the Dark I am on. The 35 chipset was out shortly after it could be bought and it is a better chipset and is able to use future cpu's the Dark cannot.
I love my Ultra-D but the P965-S left a bad taste in my mouth so I will reserve judgement on this new board until some retail boards are purchased and benched by private owners. If you always follow the hype you will always be dissapointed.
I agree with what you say but it seems these days things change so fast that there isn't time to wait and see. By the time each chipset matures, there's another one popping up.
If the DFI comes out by mid July, it doesn't whine, and it has a crazy good bios, I might grab one for use with a 6850. I love the p5k-dlx too but I could always build another system this July. I love p35 so far.
Ditto, on the Infinity Line! I built a Infinity 975X/G actual went through two off the boards and the friggin thing had a mind of its own and was very tempermental! Personally the Bios on the Infinity line is entirely too flakey for my taste and really not what I have come to expect from Oskar Wu and I was less than impressed and sorely dissapointed!
I hope to see this out by the end of August or else my E6850 is going to be lonely...
lol i kinda have a feeling that most of us here came from AMD to C2D....
problem here seems is that Ultra-D was an execptional board and seems questionable if it can be reproduced, it had a fair share of its problems some really big but was a great board, i really do hope they make the new ones as good as the ultra-d, but on the other hand It HAS TO be out on time, by the time they put out the p965 little ppl cared and i hope it will not be same thing with this one .... or better yet they might just skip it and concetrate on the x38 right away so thay have that out on time....
Maybe 45% tops (guessing) came here from AMD to Intel. You make it sound like there were never any guys using Intel before c2d. LOL
I hope DFI can have a great Intel mb for the first time. Asus and Intel have always been the big dogs in Intel. I hope they don't mess around forever with the heatpipes and are late again.:)
I expect good things from the Board as they don't Dis on the LP Bios and I have Built 10 D.F.I LanParty Systems (NF4) and 2 (N590) and I still regard the D.F.I Expert Motherboard the best Motherboard I have ever owned //Screams like a Raped Ape on Steroids and is Server Class Motherboard stable and reliable!
Actually I just changed out my system and am very reluctant to get rid of it!
I still own 2 Ultra-D's, one's in my sons computer with my old 165 running 2.9ghz on air and it can still hit 350fsb no problem. I have one in a box in the closet for a back up (Wink, Wink). Yeah you would think since this board will be carrying the LP name it will be on par with the best out there (crosses fingers).:D
Mobo will be available at the end the July.

Thank you Victor Wang:toast:
Thanks for sharing Victor.. :)
wow.. at the end of july.. :) yahoo.. Oskar-Wu
what cooling is he using?
cause I know sub zero cooled PC's tend to have a much better chance at booting at very high FSB's then air or watercooled ones do.
just want to know how he's getting these numbers, so I can get a realistic idea of what to expect with that board.
Thanks for the info Victor
mmmm end of July... right around when my tax return is due :D
Can't wait to see the cooling on this thing
and hello Soulscollective ;)
any info on the chipset/pwm cooling? how far off is the x38 board?
Awesome, great to hear. Any idea when the X38 mobo's might be available? I'd like to buy a new computer in late July...but could stand waiting until late August if a DFI X38 will be out by then...as you can tell...big DFI fan..and would prefer to buy from them. :yepp:
