Mine was either Peter or DrJay, CCB8F, I think DrJay's actually, i seem to remember AW as well.
So, my stepping is CCB8F 0712UPAW
Got to 3.4 Stable on AIR, with my TForce 550 and 1.5 vcore.

that's right humey, been 2, sorry for the confusion :)
my early one was a CCBF0710UPM so not far off these better chips either, but alas it sucks in comparison.
In this crosshair.. highest reasonably stable @ 1.48v:
Old 3.25
New 3.4
I have noticed it's hard to get much over 3.4 though.. I'm not 100% the problem, may be Power related. as I get freezing problems , not orthos errors.
Yeah, my PSU/Mobo are definetly hurting me, but hey, I'm not all that worried about it, if I squeezed 400Mhz off of a 3Ghz AMD chip...I really can't complain at all. :)
I just ideally want to ask for best stepping I can, I know there is no guarantee though but stand a better chance of a good CPU as I did years ago with a AMD 2600m 1.45v (it was a great OC'r)
I have told store I will wait till Monday to give them stepping info, any input is greatly accepted, I really should pop mines out and see steppings.
Seems as though it would be hard to go wrong with any recent 6000+. Use a really popular online retailer that goes through a lot of CPUs and you'd be more likely to get a newer week.
Mines is under 2 weeks old and is new stock to store as previous stock were Retail inc heatsink, this is oem, it is a DOG.
I get on well with the manager and they go through massive stock, I only need to tell him a stepping code.
For what it's worth on air a couple of different ways.
My :banana::banana::banana::banana: stepping : CCBVF 0713RPMW :down:
Pump major volts into mines to get 3.3GiG like 1.6v, still not 100% stable 100% of the time, the peeps above have far better CPU's on stock volts.
Well mines is a F3 6000 hopefully your CPU will be different.
Obv VF comes before 6F and 8F.
I had a dream that i got around getting cold bugged at high htt so im off to get a 5600 or 6000 if i can find a good stepping. it doesnt require adjusting temp. if it works ill post the solution
damn, cpu looks like crap.
3100mhz @ auto vcore superpi 1m and cpuz says it has 1.65v vcore:ROTF:
CPUZ does not read my volts correctly so ignore it unless verified.
ok i was not able to find a good cpu at microcenter but what iwas thinking when you have a cold bugged cpu and it happens at say 320x10 @20c but boots at 320x10 @ 25c boot even if you boot it you have to keep the cpu hot by loading it with prime or something. and then use clockgen to up the speed the problem is when you stop it the cpu cools and when it reaches the temp were it bugs at the comp will just freeze.
now my solution i want to try is find out at what temp your cpu bugs then boot up below that go into windows and and use clockgen to see were your cpu locks up without load. when it does reset go in to bios turn your cpu shutdown temp to off load window this time load speedfan go to adv.. config and change where it gets the cpu temp sensor this should make temps read like 85c.
now use clocken again and go up to where your comp freezes if you can go higher it works in not o well. i need volunteers with coldbug cpus to test it out i tried with mine but its a brisbane 3600+ and already has a high temp bug
Swapping my above mentions POS for a CCB8F 0717 UPMW, turns out the 1st part is CORE the last part is the Stepping.

Did this in like 5 minutes. Not sure if Ortho's stable or not, although Ortho's did run for 5 minutes with no errors.
This is my wall I think..

I may be able to take it higher but want to let it run Ortho's for the night and see if it makes it. It made it through 5 minutes of Ortho's, but we all know, if it don't make it through atleast 12hrs Ortho's it ain't stable.
Will post back tommorrow with my results!!
Dang imma post mine later too! Great numbers!
Nothing serious but I got this far so far hehe.
3.28 at 1.45V
(dang, I love my upgrade from 8600gs to 8800gts )
