Cathar, are you still taking orders for these blocks? One of these babies seems like a damn fine way to kickstart my first watercooling rig. :D
And would an Eheim 1250 or a Hydor L30 be good enough to run one?

If you want to buy one send him a mail so he could add you to the waiting list
Cheers antipop, I have fired off a mail, will be about a month before I have the cash together, hopefully a Cascade will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine...
:D
Don't worry the waiting list is rather long and you'll have plenty money by the time it's your turn ;)
:D
antipop, do you have a URL for that firmware thingy for the CD-RW?
I'm running the same model and can't for the life of me find the firmware to cheat it into the 48x model.
Check the forum here http://www.cdfreaks.com/
I've done a long time ago, i'll look into my bookmarks if i find it
Cheers!
Wow i just received my block today but as i was out all day i won't be able to try it before tomorrow
Anyway it's a very nice job you've done cathar the block looks wonderful, i hope it'll perform as well
Cheers :toast:
My name rolled around on the waiting list.
Yippee........ !!
Pops.
I WANT ONE ASAP I HAVE PLENTY OF CASH!!! P4 STYLE PLEASE!
Does the final version have 2 or 3 barbs?
It's 2 barbs and send an email to cathar so he can add you to the list
Just a post to show off the plethora of pictures I took of the latest creation.
The block base is pure silver. The block features certain modifications to take advantage of the use of silver, and pushes certain elements of the Cascade design just a little bit further, which was only possible by hand picking machined parts that suited the modifications being done.
For now, here's the piccies, some with flash, some without. The no flash pictures are a little blurry, but perhaps give the best indication of what the block looks like in real life, whereas the flash pictures look a little sterile.

AWESOME!!!
KILLER BLOCK I LOVE IT:toast:
Well I've never gotten my Barton CPU Prime95 stable about 2680MHz.
Managed to pull this off:

It's running Prime95TT, the 3DMark's, etc, all stable.
That was as high as I've tried so far. Might push it a little harder just to see what the SS block has really offered.
whats the diff between one and 2 outlets? did you test that?
Cathar has been sick for a few days. Hang in there and I'm sure he'll be stopping back in here soon.
I got my hands on a WW block so there's no rush :)Quote:

cathar once said that there was none or very small (less than 0.5C)Quote:

Extremely minimal. I wasn't able to register a difference. My test-bed isn't the most accurate thing in the world, but generally I can pick up the existance of diffences down to around 0.3C even if I can't accurately quantify the size of them, and I wasn't able to discern a difference between 2 and 3 outlets. The reason why is because the way the water flows after it leaves the holes and runs across the top of the metal is almost totally irrelevant to the cooling effect that the block provides. It's a bit like saying what's the difference between a 4-stroke motorbike with one or two exhaust pipes? It's largely cosmetic.Quote:

well its diferent because the water ont he one site flows out pretty much inmediatly and the water that flows to the other side has to make a loop... or maybe the water on the other side isnt really moving at all? have you tried something like this?
What the water does on the surface of the metal doesn't affect the block's cooling performance. It could sit still over 90% of the surface, and still you wouldn't see a performance difference. All the cooling happens at the bottom of the cups. Once the water leaves the cups (and into the area you're talking about) its contribution to the overall cooling effect of the block is very close to zero.
hehe nice job again cathar i should have waited :)
Hmmmm, 1 question...
Cascade in series with a MCW-50T with 1 "300GPH" pump?
Would that be a bad idea, would the 50T not get enough flow, since the cascade I assume would cut the flow down a bit.
Thanks...
Oh, and this week I am moving from 2 pumps in parallel and parallel blocks to 1 pump with the blocks in series, will be a lot more simple, and I dont think the temps will end up that different.
