ahh what the :banana::banana::banana:. i just realized northbridge is held by a single spring clip. !!! hope i can get mcw30 on there securely
seriously is there any other board worth buying in this price range?
as soon as e6600 drop to $220 im getting this, the 6600 and a dice pot. :)
its too cheap to not do :)
I wonder if the hr-05 can be mounted to the nb
should be fine. hr05 only uses two hooks to secure itself
updated here with some tips etc, all intermediate stuff, should be helpful to somebody at least...

you rock raju, thanks for the link.
will a hro-05 fit on both bridges ??
nice tidbit in the new update. so does this mean that once you have done all your tweaking for the time being, you could switch it to mode1? does this apply to all reboots, including windows induced ones?
I'm having a problem on my asus p5b in that when i go 460+ fsb, I must invoke a hard reboot or else it won't post. The problem is that the board decides to hard reboot when it feels like it. If not, I have to hold power to turn it off, wait 5 seconds, and then turn on again.
The HR-05 should fit the P965-S it uses the clip type hold downs. I was able to use the HR-05 on my RD600 w/ similar hold downs.
once you have found near on optimal settings you can indeed set to 1. The board will still switch off on a cas change in the memory page, as this seems to be an inherent feature on the intel chipsets of not being able to change cas 'on the fly'. The mode 1 setting will certainly help those who have phase change without a delayed timing for psu shutdown on the controller unit.

good knowledge! thanks. i wish i understood the hard booting more. asus said something in their faq about hard booting being needed to "trigger the southbridge". i wonder why my p5b doesn't boot unless it hard resets first. guess it's a different reason
thnks Raju
what is the best bios for you?? that beta bios posted on DFI club ???
regards

What do you mean? Is it picky about voltage? Mine will be here tomorrow. I can't wait to get this stupid p5b dlx out of my life!
You will see :)

Hey raja can you post a screenie of the nb temps @ full load. The reason i ask is i got a hr05 on my infinity 975x and was wondering if i should recycle :D
