Fook me, I want that board so bad :slobber:
Holy :banana::banana::banana:! The voltage adjustments on this board is insane. I was seriously going to pre-order the DFI RD600, but now I’m seriously having my doubts and am interested in this new 965 ROG board. This board must be capable of around 550FSB?!
Also, are they cherry picked 965’s used in these ROG boards?
.. and another thing, when is this board due for release guys? Thanks.
Hi. RichUK I hope this helps you.

I am buying this M/B for testing. V core drop a little high. But with so many V options I can select a higher value to hold the value I want. I like the 975 chipsets but this one deserves a hard look. Andre can you tell me what the over voltage option is? Will that option be available on future bios?
Thanks Andre for your results. Could you take this thing up to 550 FSB and confirm Anand Tech reults.
vdroop is awfull...
Yea thats a showstopper for me as I do not plan to do any sort of vmodding with solder. Other than that it looks solid to me.Quote:

with a big vdroop..idle the chip is getting alot vcore..wonder if this will lead to issuesQuote:

seems no one is listening on this issue
Well Andre Is showing 1.4951 at start . So I am not sure if thats at Idle or boot. Than at load he shows 1.423. Best thing I can do is get the board and check idle V drop. If its like what Andre is showing . I can simply go to a higher value. I have a nice fluke so I know it will read accurately vs. a $29 multi meter. Still this looks like a nice M/B to replace my Dothan setup. If I need to mod the Vcore i will. My wife wants me to buy a cheep C2D to play with. This seems like a nice M/B to go extreme with. I know there is a rather large heavy present under the tree from her and the kids. I bet its a phase change cooler. I just hope they got me the right one.
Wow look at all those voltage settings~!!
You could be tweaking your volts down to the bare minimum for months!!
I hope all that controllability translates to more headroom!
Thanks Tony and Andre for the preview.
Andre on one of those nice Pics you posted could you circle the test points for the core v drops it would save us some time.
Thanks, that was helpful :)Quote:

These are some serious voltage options...
I really wish one of these premium boards would have atleast 1 lower then then 1:1 setting...
right now on my P5B deluxe, I can easiliy boot at 575 into windows (volt mods and all) but the problem for me, is getting ram that can do 1200 mhz isnt easy...
if I had 1 setting below 1:1 then maybe I could finally find the limit of the board and CPU :)
be nice if one of these premium boards offerd that, cause theres always someone like me using them, that just ends up getting held back by something very minor... like your ram cant go any farther...
that's a good pointQuote:

Such nice pics! I wish review sites did stuff like that instead of regurgitated data sheets. I hope this motherboard isn't overpriced when it hits the market.
I asked Asus for the 400 mode, lets see if they put it in bios.
I just set 1.8V for vcore on my board here and measured 1.56V real on the board...droop is a little mild for the lack of accuracy here and I will be looking for a fix when I speak to the guys in Taiwan.
they could do away with the options over 1.6vcore for me if 1.6V actually gave 1.6V ;)
Tested some Xfire with my trusty 1800's and broke 60K 3d01 with some tweakage, 3.7GHZ boot at 399x9 and clockgen up 1:1 ;)
Badaxe2 testing tomorrow though, so will come back to commando later.
after the bigfoot here comes the teaser tony :)
looks heavily based on p5b deluxe bios; MSRP for this? 300+?
this is a little droop?Quote:
