Well going off the strap adjustment after 425Mhz I'd not be to worried about getting 500Mhz stable anyway. Too much of a performance hit.
My striker is crazy. It reads the same voltages regardless of what I change. It always say 1.37. Others have it say 1.47. Maybe yours only reads 1.27. It only happens with the newest bios though, going back one will give you better results.

That is one lousy crappy voltage management on this motherboard. I doubt we will ever see this getting fixed on bios updates. Im going to write asus tech a email explaining to them that they are the biggest ripoff ever. Selling this and going for DFI. Sure ive booted to 500FSB but good luck getting that stable.:slapass: man im so angry right now i could throw this crapiola mobo out the window!
I'm probably going to hold off until the next Intel performance chipset before getting another board. Hopefully its at least 6 months away because I want to put a Yorktown in it.
I am having an issue with the Striker Extreme. Is anyone else's motherboard temp. sensor broken? Mine reads -55c in BIOS, 201c in windows.
I have used BIOS 0402 and 0505. Anyone else have this issue?
I use the P5N32-E SLI and all my temps start at around 10-16C and keep going lower and lower to around -50C. Probes are screwed.
Also cannot get memory to run stable at 733MHz. Does 727MHz @ 3-2-2-1-1T no problems, 733MHz won't run stable at 5-4-4-12-2T. (D9DQW @ 2.5V)
any1 experienced heat problems with hp's in inverted cases??
I'll probably set mine up inverted over the next week or so, I doubt it's gonna deal well with it as almost all asus hp's seem to have issue's being inverted, crossing my fingers though
I have some problem on P5n32-e sli with E6600 L628A370.
i can load windows @400X9, 3.6G, 1.575 Vcore using 0302 BIOS
but i cant even load same 1.5 Vcore using 0405 BIOS
when i using 0302 @ 1.575 Vcore shown 1.39 at PC Probe and Speedfan. but after i flash to 0405 @ 1.5 Vcore show 1.47 at PC Probe and Speedfan. i need at least 1.6 Vcore load windows and shown 1.57 at PC Probe and Speedfan. and i getting CRAZY hot temp . i'm using watercooling.
Kunaak i saw u using 0102 BIOS so may i request your 0102 or 0204 BIOS see can i fix my problem?
PS: sorry for my english i'm chinese hope u understand what i mean. :)
thank you very much
bring on the boards with better power;
Re: heatpipes inverted: I have now read several comments that have convinced me that inverted heatpipes will NOT function properly - indeed inverted heatpipes can produce +10 degrees c higher !!!!
well; i have this damn inverted lianli case and all these 680i boards with heatpipes :?
could put a/m sinks on nb and sb, but what about those "things" above & beside the cpu socket?:confused:
ahh; i see; i'll cut the pipes with a hacksaw and reuse the sinks around the cpu socket:rolleyes:
oh; voltage regulators are they?
you can get bios 0102 or was it 0101 on the ASUS P5N32-E SLI Driver CD.. AWDFLASH is also on the CD~
=)
@adamsleath
I have a lian-li v2000b+ & have been asking same questions:-
Abit: Do Heatpipes work with Mobo Inverted I think reading between lines that any mobo including Abit AW9D-Max i975X or subsequent are ok.
EVGALian Li owners plz help post#6
Do Heatpipes work with Mobo Inverted
Asus - Posted same question on asus forum, Do Heatpipes work with Mobo InvertedAsus fiorum is wonderful i now find i can't post there can't contact them or anything, typical. The official Asus view is no.
hope that helps:)
supershanks;
read abit thread; it was helpful; thanks.
question.
why do people keep asking me for 0102 bios?
Hey Kunaak,
Where did you get a 0102 bios? cause i've only got the 0101.. =S

I once had a issue with booting, it asked for support cd, so i placed it in, AWDFLASH automatically ran and flashed my board with 0101 bios.. =S
my P5N32E setting for vcore in setting 1.5-1.59XX will show 1.5v in bios volt monitoring menu..however when i set 1.6, it will show 1.56v...seems like 1.5-1.59xx dont seems to increase any volt at all..
using 0602 bios atm
anyone got the vcore reading point for me to confirm?
I find all bios's other then 0302, crap... only in 0302 am i able to control the cpu vcore.. though the droop is totally crap... its like 0.1V droop..HAHAHA
Other bios's seem to have their vcore locked at certain V after raising the FSB.. =S
Hope the next BIOS update can fix it.. and what's with the P5N32-E SLI PLUS... will asus allow us to RMA for a PLUS? LOL... seems to be major voltage issues with these P5N32-E SLI's...
should i revert back to 0302? i am running fine above 500 fsb using 0602 thr. and 0302 can use AI booster to switch vcore on the fly :)Quote:

I want to stick with Asus (I'm an admin on an Asus board plus I like their product) so I am ina qundary at the monet. The Striker is way overbuilt for my needs and way too expensive. The P5N-E SLI with the 650i chipset looks like a real bargain but has some severe voltage droops. I realize there are only 16 lanes of PCIe for graphics but that is fine for me as I won't do SLI with my planned 8800GTS for awhile.
The P5N32-E seems like a solid board but suffers from the same voltage droop as the $100 cheaper P5N-E SLI. The super hot chipsets are OK as well since I am planning a dual loop watercooling setup for this next go round.
Questions:
1. After two months would you all still recommend the P5N32-E or not?
2. Has there been any revisions that stabilized the Vcore?
3. Should I hole off a month or two and see what Asus comes out with as
Thanks for any advice and great info on this thread to date. In fact it is just about the only info out there.
A1. Yes, unless kentsfield dont do wellQuote:

as for vdroop, it is the lowest i tested using DMM...i see vdrop is abt 0.01-0.02v only.. i dont understand why ppl mention it has high vdroop..
.01-.02 is very good. In earlier posts I had read it was >.1v Kentsfield isn't a big concern for me I really want to put a 4300 in there, when they come out, and push it to 4000MHz if possible. That's a 443 FSB speed. It seems the P5N32-E is capable of that or am I mistaken?
